Fernleaf Motel Rotorua is just 3 minutes’ drive from Lake Rotorua. Rotorua Bus Station and the popular Polynesian Spa are each a 5-minute drive away. All studios and apartments include a kitchenette or kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room type has a private bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries. Unfortunately, we don't have an office on site and the guest has to come to a different location for check in. Shower head broken. Have stayed here before years ago and still hasn’t been fixed or maintained well. Single bed too old and couldn’t sleep in it. Hot water hard to figure out. And you have to drive to another motel to get the key is out of the way.

It was clean and in a good location. The manager "upgraded" us to a one bedroom apt, but didn't tell us and we initially thought the door to the bedroom, which was very hard to push open, was to an adjoining room. This places is not as advertised. We would have looked for another place to stay, but were tired from driving all day. We initially thought we were going to have to sleep on the sofa bed. When we pulled it out, the mattress cover was very dirty. We called the manager, who told us he had "upgraded" us. Per the website and FB site, it was supposed to have a heated swimming pool and a private thermal mineral bath, but it did not. The pool was dirty and cold, and the thermal mineral bath was locked and boarded. The kitchenette was not stocked well,.e.g., no spatula or tongs, or lid for the skillet. Check in was at a different location, 2 km distance. There was no guest laundry as advertised. The office is not in use and has signs posted that it is not up to earthquake standard code.

It worked for us, cosy small studio. The bed was holo, squeaky when sitting down and getting up out of the bed.

The room was clean and tidy. The pool was well maintained. The room was a little cold and could do with an extra blanket kept in the cupboard.

Very spacious. Bed was rock hard. A topper would have made a difference. Was a cold night, there weren't any spare blankets.

No warm pool this motel was lovely years ago we stayed here often we did not stay the room seem very closed up feel. Smelt stale this place used to be excellent. I see it was used for emergency housing why is there no office on site had to go to another motel for a key $150 dollars down the back door was locked if you wanted to use the private mineral pool probably couldn’t use if we wanted to
