The property was incredibly beautiful. The Swans in the pond added to the beauty.

In general terms food was very good although breakfast could be better. Staff attitude wasn't as expected.

An exquisite destination, the chateau is an absolute gem, superbly taken care of with pristine surroundings among vineyards and a few mins away from Saint Emilion, the jewel village of Bordeaux. The service is of the highest quality, with very attentive staff and the restaurant is excellent. Very memorable gourmet dinner. A warm outdoor pool would have been nice to have during our cold days.

The hotel staff was excellent. The car pickup the hotel arranged for us was about 20 minutes late. It did not arrive until the tour guide kindly gave the hotel a call.

Our room, a Junior Suite, had an excellent view and private terrace. The staff was excellent. We are especially thankful to the kind staff member who helped us with renting the Chateau's electric bikes. It was our first time using them and we are hooked. Riding through the St. Emilion vineyards was our favorite memory of our time in the Bordeaux region! We had a lucky sunny warm stay in early April, and even got a few hours by the gorgeous pool! We are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff put rose petals and towel swans on our bed. So charming! Best welcome ever! The restaurant was disorganized and very overpriced for the micro servings. The food was good, but not great. When talking to a nearby vineyard owner about the area's restraunts, they said that the Chateau restaurant had that reputation. Very happy to have a gym, but it is the size of a very large closet. At one point, I wanted to work out and there were 3 people squished into that small space.

Beautiful property, very friendly and accommodating staff. NA

Absolutely beautiful and tranquil. Immediately relaxing and set the tone for a wonderful trip in the Bordeaux/St. Emilion area.
-
Beautiful property. Picturesque and historical. Surrounded by vineyards, gardens and ponds filled with talkative and comical swans and ducks. Our room was sprawling and overlooked the entire garden with a full on length veranda which faced the sunset. The spa was very limited and allowed children in the spa while adults are trying to enjoy a small coop area and jacuzzi. The TV did t work when it rained and the hotel had major leaks in the atrium.

It was beautiful. We stayed in the grand room. The balcony was incredible. The four poster bed was so romantic. No hand rails on the stairs leading to the front desk. But I would never want them to change this. The stairs are beautiful. I was glad to have help going down.

Beautiful, central, elegant; my new metric on hotels: number of trash cans in the room. This room had three

Everything was perfect. The grounds, the room, the food, the services, and the price.

We absolutely loved this hotel!! We got a gorgeous room with a balcony overlooking the vineyards. The spa area was also very nice and comfortable. Then we had dinner, and it was delicious — but what really made it extraordinary was the amazing staff throughout the whole meal. They were all so friendly and sweet! The staff at the reception was also very kind and professional. And the breakfast… so nice!! The scrambled eggs, all the sweet pastries, the cheese… everything was perfect. We also rented an electric bike, and the staff gave us an app with a map to get around — it worked perfectly. Really, we loved every detail — how beautiful everything was, the swans in the small pond… just wonderful! I don’t know, we really enjoyed everything. We were so relaxed, everything looked so well maintained…

Beautiful property. Great staff. Very helpful and polite. The location is also very good. You are right in the middle of all the wineries if you want to do tours. We loved it! also the staff at the spa were excellent. We loved our massage and facial. All in all we liked everything but perhaps breakfast options can be better.

Château Hôtel Grand Barrail is lovely - ideally situated in the middle of vineyards with top-notch facilities, services, and food/wine. Highly recommend as a great place to rest and recharge. The pool area is nice as well with full-service waitstaff. They also have a convenient shuttle van that can take you to and from St. Emilion so you don't have to drive yourself. Everything was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed everything...
