Hotel Elefant Family Business

Great hotel. Location can't be beat. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg. Nothing really. Some of the front desk clerks were incredibly helpful, while some of the others were not.

The location was *great*! Everything we wanted to see or do was within easy walking distance.

The location was wonderful. The room was big and everything was comfortable. The older man at reception was very short and unclear about confusing directions to get to the room. Other guests felt the same. Rooms were in two attached buildings with two elevators and two sets of stairs to get to the room. He also said, "I don't know about the marionette theater, or stairs there, just Google it. I'm working", like I was bothering him!? I had to ask for a town map. He was very rude. I found the marionette theater, near the river. (But the small marionette Museum is two rooms at the top of the mountain, in the castle.) It was a fabulous performance for all ages, of The Sound of Music. Excellent puppet performance! Cheering audience! ?

It was in a great location right near Mozart’s birthplace and the main shopping street. The room was nice and the bed so comfy. I slept great. There is a nice little restaurant right downstairs. We took a hop on hop off tour and just fell in love with the city. We went to a Mozart dinner concert at St. Peter Stiftskulinarium. Highly recommend it.

Amazing location, charming old building, friendly staff, very clean, great breakfast. Mattress in room 422 is hard and sunken.

Location No washcloths, no hotpot or coffee maker or bottled watee

One of the staff is not helpful. We checked into the hotel around maybe noon. We have 3 rooms for my travel group. It's hot in my room so one of the key cards was left in the slot to let the air conditioner run while we went out exploring the town. When we came back around 3:00 pm and found out the room was still not cooling down. So I talked to the staff at the front desk about it and he told us to leave the key card in the slot to let the air conditioner keep running. Of course I told him what I did and he said he will check it. At this time I asked him, will he get to the room to check while we're gone. He said yes. So we left and came back around 8:30 pm or so. The room was still not cooling down. So I stopped by the front desk again. The same staff was still on duty as my first time talking to (I didn't know his name). He said why I let him know this late of the time. I said I told him earlier and followed his instructions and he didn't tell me what's the latest time to tell him. He said I told him too late at the time of the day. He showed that he would not do anything about it. We exchanged the same saying a couple times and then he said I was yelling at him. I said I was not yelling but he needed to do something that he promised he would check if the room was cooling down. And the other 2 rooms were fine and much cooler. Finally he offered to exchange another room without any additional charges. In my opinion, this staff was unprofessional.

Nothing Grotesquely overpriced, only marginally clean, dark room with low ceilings, no streaming services. The floors are NOT hardwood as advertised, they’re vinyl. The kind of hotel where you wear slippers in the room because it feels unclean. Sorry to criticize a family run hotel but it’s like a roadside motel at best with a 4-star price.

Location was great, very clean. Room key had to be reset twice. Shower head was broken. They offered us another room but we didn't want to be on a different floor from our teens staying in the room next door. We asked to have someone come look at it but they never did. Not a big deal as we were only there for the night.

Great friendly staff. Room was nice. A bit small for us (4 people) but still clean and quiet. Would have preferred a larger room for the 4 of us.

Beautiful old property that occupies floors across a few buildings, but with modern renovated rooms. The staff were so kind and it felt like a family business. The air conditioning worked perfectly during the middle of a heat wave. Location is perfect, right where you want to be in the heart of the old city, literally on the same block as Mozart birth house. While “Hotel Elefant Family Business” is technically listed separately on Booking.com (an expansion of the business into a nearby, yet internally connected, building), it is functionally the same interconnected property with the same high qualify of room, so apply all the great reviews and details from the “Hotel Elefant “ It took us longer to lock down our hotel in Salzburg then the rest of the trip and we weren’t quite as excited about the listing, but that was our mistake, as it was fantastic!

Definitely the location, we didn’t know it would be in the middle of all the shops and churches. We loved the hotel staff and amenities and were pleased with the room. There were three adults in our party and we had plenty of room and were quite comfortable. The previous reviews were spot on, this is a fantastic hotel! Nothing!

Location and slippers Shower area was a bit tight

The location of this hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of old town Salzburg. The staff was very friendly and informative throughout our stay. The room was very quiet too. The room was extremely comfortable with a great bed and nice bathroom. We had a refrigerator which was nice. Our seating area and closets were ample and we were able to spread out. it was extremely clean and modern. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. We loved being able to walk everywhere to pick up tours or to just visit the fortress. What a gem this place is! I wholeheartedly recommend it. I liked everything.

Very friendly and professional staff and perfect location I like that as well established, you could tell that the staff really knows what they’re doing in hospitality and the accommodation is beautiful!

Really beautiful quaint hotel in Old Market Square area of the city. Quiet streets at night and vibrant during the day. Walking distance to all that you want to see and do in Salzburg

Location was great— everything was wonderful! Luggage racks would have helped. A more powerful hairdryer.
