Blue Lizard House

I can't recommend the place enough, it's sparkling clean and very well taken care of. There's a proper selections of freshly prepared breakfasts available and overall vibe is superb. While I initially booked just a place to sleep, then we ended up spending a few hours every day at the pool, relaxing and having a proper vacation. The taxi to Blue Lizard is roughly 75k, so rather marginal, and you can book a mule directly from them after to get around. I would go back any time really, thank you Liz and Luis for taking well care of us.

Liz and Luis were exceptional hosts. They welcomed me with an overview of the hotel. There is a pool that is available and the bus passes by the hotel so flagging it down is easy. If you want something for dinner you'll need to get it in the city center or have it delivered, double check the payment options. Delivery usually costs around 25k. The breakfast offered is a great way to start your day. The last bus from the city center to the hotel usually leaves around 7:35 pm. Nearby you have a lot of great beaches within walking distance. I especially recommend the small business "Playa Mantarraya y Coco Lounge" which is about 50 minutes walking distance or a short bus ride (east side). There are no kitchen facilities unless you book the room with a kitchen. Blue Lizard House is a special place that is peaceful, relaxing and removed from the loud noise of the city center. You won't be disappointed!

Blue lizard house was my second home in San Andrés. Liz and Luis were wonderful host/hostess. They were really attentive and wonderful people. The place was a bliss, a beautiful hotel far away from the centre of the island which can be very stressful and chaotic. The pool is right next to the sea and there’s also a deck if you want to watch the sunset

Very nice clean property in the quiet part of the island. Very hospitable owners. You can rent a buggy to drive around. They also serve good breakfast.

The hosts are incredibly friendly and are always there to help you. They made their accomodation completely themselves and they really did an amazing job. Beautiful blue houses and a beautiful garden. Also the breakfast and the way they serve it is amazing. You can also rent a very good UTV at their place, so you can easily discover the island. Maybe the location is a little far away from the busy part of the island, but that is also the advantage and in 20 minutes, you are already in the center and you are in much more authentic place with the nicest hosts you can imagine. Quite possibly the best stay we have ever had anywhere. Louis and Liz are the most amazing hosts and made us feel completely at home. It’s quiet, breakfast is great and the rooms was perfect There isn’t anything we did not like

Lovely couple on a peaceful place in the south of the island

Luis and Liz were fabulous hosts, very chatty and ensured our stay was excellent. Blue Lizard was designed and built by them to a very high standard. Very large rooms and bathroom. Everything you need. Lovely pool. Views of the sea. Quiet. Very clean and spacious. Lovely gardens. The slight issue was that the local restaurants tended to shut about 6, but you can get round this using the regular bus service or hiring a mule.

Very beautiful structure of new construction very well maintained in quiet part of the island. The owners did a great job and are very friendly. I rent a buggy by them to discover the island , absolutely recommended ! no hot water in the bathroom, far from center (20 km) for dinner

What a beautiful and restful place! No blasting music at the pool. Loved it. And I appreciated the hosts’s recommendations and care. To get around, there is an island bus which stops right outside the hotel. The bed was very hard.

Nice quiet location with beautiful sea views on a busy island. Very helpful owners. It can be a challenging location for a solo traveler without a car but the owners do everything to help you get around.

This beautiful property is located on the southern side of the island and that makes it the perfect place to rest and relax far from the crowds and the noise. We even saw blue lizards and tons of birds! The rooms and the facilities are clean, very well maintained and have everything you may need. Liz and Luis are amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable; they gave us great recommendations and were always available and happy to help us. It is not something I did not like but if you want to venture out of the property, I recommend having some sort of transportation so you can move around. The owners have mulitas for rent and we loved moving around and exploring the whole island in those.

Hosts, location, cleanliness Nothing

My family and I had the most wonderful week at Liz and Luis’s home on San Andres! The property is located in the peaceful southern part of the island, which provided an escape from the busier areas. We enjoyed leisurely morning walks and discovered quieter beaches. The breakfast and fresh fruit provided each day were delicious, and the pool was well-maintained, always ready for a refreshing swim. Renting a buggy from our hosts was incredibly useful, and it made exploring the island easy—only a 30 minute scenic drive into the centre . With such kind and accommodating hosts, we couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay—highly recommended! Roxana

Luis and his wife were super attentive and made me feel like at home. I will recommend renting the motorbike to explore the island with them rather than with island people at the center. Everything was great!

Exceptional

Wow! What an amazing place, calm, amazing owners, very good breakfast. The reality is better than the photos. Since it's small (only 4 rooms), we almost had the big pool for ourselves Keep in mind it's far away from the city (15km =~ 30 minutes) and it's hard to go/come back since you can't rent a car on the island and buggy isn't that cheap

Superb

It is exactly as I expected based on pictures and other reviews I read. I am so glad I chose the south part of the island and Blue Lizard House! I’m not a big fan of noise and crowded places. This was the exact opposite of that. The pool and social area are very pleasant. The room is huge and the bed although hard was surprisingly very comfortable. The entire property is very clean and organized. The AC worked great. And as if that isn’t enough Liz and Luis are really friendly and were extremely attentive to anything I needed. I rented a scooter from them at a great rate. Breakfast was made to order each morning and really yummy. Liz prepares it with lots of love. The dogs are very sweet and it was cool to actually see the blue lizards on the property. I super recommend Blue Lizard House and will definitely stay here every time I come to San Andres! Nothing to add here. It was really a perfect stay.

We loved staying here because it’s located in the South of the Island where it is very quiet, tranquil and peaceful. The property is beautiful and has a lovely pool and gardens. Liz and Luis are the kindest, most attentive hosts, who made our stay so perfect. They gave excellent advice about where to go snorkelling and we were able to hire masks, snorkels and shoes. The breakfast is great and very substantial and there’s a mini bar with snacks and drinks in the room if you need it. Thank you Liz and Luis for making us feel so welcome and at home during our stay with you xxx There’s absolutely nothing to dislike - it’s perfect.
