Everything was great. The room was clean, staff was great, parking was easy.

Great location! Spacious room we had a large sectional that turned to a bed and a bedroom with a small kitchen area. Room 223. Apon arrival I had to ask for a few more things for the room for a family of four, no problem getting more paper plates and cups, another pillow and blankets for the kids. Quiet hotel had the pool to ourselves often. The ac worked well in the living room but no ac in the bedroom so some nights it was very warm sleeping. Overall great experience for a two star hotel and proximity to restaurants and the beach were why we choose this hotel. There is no cleaning services available at this hotel unless you ask which we did and failed to clean the room. We came back to ask for new towels and for the garage to be taken out. Again it’s a two star so minimal expectations we had and we were happy to see the clean room and comfy bed.

Even more significantly, Room had a locked door that led to a shared kitchen that we didn't have access to, and the people in the room next to us had access to it and we did not, so not only could we hear their every word (even when they were speaking softly) and they could hear ours, there were multiple occasions of the neighbors jiggling our door handle trying to enter our room which was pretty upsetting. Very little privacy and being connected to our neighbors room via a paper thin door was pretty unsettling and did not feel safe at all, felt like they may barge into our room at any moment. Overall I'd maybe consider staying here again only because the competitors in the area are all literally triple the price and mostly sold out, but just be prepared. On a positive note, if you plan on spending a lot of time at the beach and/or out and about (which we did) the value isn't terrible, as it's 1 block from the beach and right in the heart of Pacific beach. That's the only reason why I wasn't overly upset, because we mainly just used the room as a place to sleep at night. Limit your expectations when booking here

I booked before I read reviews and not gonna lie after reading them i was weary about staying here. I even thought about canceling. Im so glad I didnt! We had the best stay! The first night we got there, there was a power outage on a couple blocks and there was no power. This was the last thing we wanted to hear after a long travel day, it was out from 5pm to about 4am but the staff was so amazing and helpful! Thr manager went amd got lights and passed them out and he helped me figure out how to open windows which helped cool down our room tremendously! Our suite was perfect exactly what we needed, the kitchen was so nice and made it so we didnt have to eat out every meal and we were able to do simple small meals and reheat food and the fridge was just enough room. A lot of older reviews mention how loud it is and they had a hard time sleeping/how dirty gross and run down the place is and either they fired everyone and have totally new staff and management and have given the olace a huge facelift or they werent being hinest cuz thats just not true. Our room was very clean, It was so nice and peaceful and quiet my kids were prolly the loudest noise I heard. We didnt find out till the last night that the pool was heated or we woulda used it. Now the best part, the location which is why we booked it in the first place. Its literally 1 minute walk away from the beach and your right in the heart of PB everything is so close. Its super affordable too! Can't wait to come back!

Very good

We enjoyed our stay and for what we needed the hotel was fine since we didn’t spend much time in the room. The reviews about the paper thin walls and poor water pressure were definitely accurate. The location is fine and while yes it’s close to the beach, the actual beach access is not close. If you are traveling with kids (and lots of things) just know it’s a good walk to actually get onto the beach.

Nice place close to the beach. Parking was easy. We had two rooms for 6 of us. Put us next to each other. Rooms were clean and well stocked with everything needed. Office even had beach chairs and beach towels. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby as well.

Nice place and staff…………………….
-
Nice place to stay, walking distance to beach and shops. A microwave would have made it better

It was a cute boutique hotel near the beach and great restaurants. But probably not somewhere I would choose to go back to.
-
I liked the it was closed to the beach, just few steps to the beach.

The front desk staff and workers were kind. The kitchen and convenience to the beach was the best part. There was a smell of rotting fish in the hotel breezeway for most of our stay and the trashcan outside the gate was overflowing with trash and flies. I felt they should have hosed it down sooner and trash moved to the large dumpsters. Neighbors next door obnoxiously loud till midnight or so.

Location: You're really paying for its proximity to the beach. Room: comfy beds and pillows. I strangely liked how the beds were elevated pretty high, weird but I liked it! Pool: looked nice but didn't use it. Hot tub as well looked nice, maybe fits 8 people. AC: I cranked the AC cuz it was a hot weekend... It was Amazing. Location: It was next to the road (mission blvd) so be prepared for emergency sirens and general car noise... it is what it is though. Remember, you're here for its proximity to the beach Fridge: no microwave or fridge, unless you buy the extention kitchen. Ask the front desk about it. I didn't know it was an option till I saw the sign in the room. Room: If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs; it's close to the busy road and walls are thin and front door is thin. Window Blinds - didn't fully cover the window so there was some cultural lighting leaking through. Bring an eye mask if this bugs you. Didn't bother me. Toilet: kind of loose on the floor, just needs a little shimming by the maintenance person.

PROS: - location - kitchenette stocked great - staff (as of Aug 2026) - ice maker clean / functional - pool looked clean & well maintained - pretty quiet for being on a main street CONS: - small shower - definitely dated - not great for families / small children in my opinion. Because it's an older building you can hear footsteps / stomps etc. I was worried our neighbors below us would be bothered by my kids noise since our room was upstairs. - even though we paid for parking there weren't enough spots at night to park in the lot unless we.got back before 8ish Overall great and would stay again!

We've continued to stay at Beach Haven in the past bc it's a good price, a great location and has just been what's easy. We stayed year after year IN SPITE of some past issues like really uptight management and being nickel and dimed. BUT - this is a new ear. If you've tried before and moved on, come back!! The new management team are a breath of fresh air and they care about service and your experience. Great pool, great a/c, easy parking and one block from the best pizza on the beach - Mr Motos. If these two establishments remain, we'll always be back.

The hotel was in a very good location, everything you wanted to visit was 15 minutes away. The beach was close, you didn't need to take the car, it was a 4 minute walk. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The beds were very good. Very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.
