Right on the beach access. A lot of human noise, but it stopped at 11pm. Close to restaurants, shops

Absolutely loved our 6 night stay here, we will be back and have already recommended to others . we Ubered to the sister location and the check in process was super easy since we had prepaid. We took the short walk to our hotel and we stayed in room 203. A great sized room that was very hot when we entered but the powerful a/c cooled the room down while we took a short walk to Oscar’s for dinner. Our bed and bathroom were cleaned up every morning while we went to breakfast. The only problem I had with the room is the shower had a sewage smell that was unpleasant but we knew the shower was clean and figured it was a drain issue. Next time I think we’ll splurge on an ocean view. We walked to breakfast lunch and dinner everyday on the boardwalk it was truly amazing. We called to check out on our way to the airport so both check in and check out were super easy for us. Received no random/extra charges after the stay. The little kitchen area was so convenient we used the bowls and silverware to have our leftovers which was also super convenient and they did our dishes for us everyday. The hotel leads right to a public bathroom and very easy access to the beach. The beach was reserved for surfing only but we took a short walk past the pier and enjoyed getting in the ocean over there. About a 2 mile walk to mission beach. I saw other reviews complain about the noise but we didn’t hear anything from the boardwalk during our stay

Great location. Housekeeping was excellent. Nice space with separate kitchen. A toaster would be a good addition! Would stay here again.

Look under the sink!!! There's dishes pot pan and silverware. A microwave and a stove. So convenient. Clean. Quiet.

We were unaware that the hotel location had no lobby and we had to walk a few blocks with our suitcases to another hotel to check in and out and this was not explained ahead of time.

This hotel is in the perfect location. We had such a great time at the beach!
-
The location is near a beach, but there are also homeless people living in their cars along the beach. The shower had 2” of standing water and clogged drain. The lobby was 3 blocks away from the hotel with no notification, signs, or anything alerting us of this. The hotel lobby wreaked of marijuana and the receptionist was clearly high.

The location. 1. Checking in was at a different hotel. 2. We got upgraded to the suite… I would’ve almost preferred the original room. Why? Not technically a full kitchen. Trash container under sink had standing water in it. The bathroom smelled musty. The shower leaked under the glass. Bathroom baseboards look to have water damage. Once you close the bathroom sink drain, you can’t open it. The toilet is an entire balancing act and had water coming out from the bottom of it/not sealed correctly. The door to the outside from the bedroom had a one inch gap opening to the elements. Mosquitos and gnats were constant. 3. The room phones don’t work.

we couldn't drive our own car because there was no parking for the guests. We spent over A $100 dollars on uber to get around.

Omg so close to the stairs that lead down to the beach ️ Parking was tricky but worth it no need to go anywhere anyway ♥️
-
Right next to beach. Homeless people do take over the area. But it’s still safe

The Inn is very well kept. Amazingly close to the beach. Just a walk to the end of the building and literally down the stairs. Very clean contemporary room. Will definitely return.

Great location! Lots of good restaurants around. Quiet rooms and very clean. We got a full beach experience staying there. The only drawbacks were parking, but there isn't a lot of parking at PB anyway. The good thing is there's 3 properties to choose from to park. We naver had to park more than a block away for parking. The rooms came with a decent size fridge and two burner hot plate. But you need to bring your own cookware and kitchen ware. We had our windows open alot when it was cool. They allow pets. Decent internet and we were very comfortable. Good location for a beachside property and if you plan on spending lots of time at the beach and boardwalk.

It's a good place, near the sea.

The rooms are clean and reasonable renovated. On a negative side - parking is somewhat limited. The bathroom could benefit from a bit more shelf/ stool space to lay out toiletries. There was no counter around the sink, and no convenient location to hang my hanging toiletries bag.

First experience I had was with the lady at PB surf who checked us in but was probably the rudest person I have ever experienced. It was to a point where I had to interrupt her and ask "please do not speak to me in that way" and immediately her tone changed a bit. I can't believe someone with that kind of attitude would work at a front desk. We stayed at the Diamond Head Inn & the drive from PB Surf was not bad at all. DHI was pretty decent but the only bad part was that there was a weird smell coming from the bathroom, possibly the shower drain. We stayed for 3 nights and had to constantly spray air freshner and keep the door closed. Kitchen was a big help and bed was super comfortable. I usually work nights and prefer black out curtains but suprisingly, it did not bother me one bit that there weren't any in the room. Best part of the DHI was location from the beach. You're literally steps away and not paying insane prices as some other hotels charge. Would definitely stay here again. We found parking reserved for the hotel by chance and did not move our car for three days and walked to nearby restaurants and coffee shops. Overall, if it weren't for the first impression of the lady being extremely rude and the bathroom smell, I would give 5/5 for this place. But still, I definitely recommend it!
