Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center

Location The front desk staff was rude and not helpful. We arrived early and the room wasn’t yet ready so we asked to use the restroom. We were told there was only 1 lobby restroom and we would have to wait for the key so we did. After waiting over 10 minutes and asking again, we were still told that there was only one lobby bathroom and it was still occupied. The front desk person then proceeded to give the bathroom key to the next girl who asked for it after another 5 min of us waiting. The fact that there is only 1 restroom is diabolical but then giving the key to someone who clearly arrived after us while we were sitting right in front of the front desk waiting is wild. There is also no early check in and parking is $70. Why am I expected to pay to park my car after I’m already paying for a room and not even at the location 24 hours. I would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty others in Gaslamp that would have been much better.

Everything about the hotel itself was great. Room, cleanliness, staff, etc... but the charges is where this review turns. I got this through Expedia, paid all but $9 upfront that I was told was due at the hotel when I checked in. Got there and was told I needed to pay $70 for parking ( this hurt, but ok, where else am I going to park? ) and an $89 deposit for incidentals that would be refunded later. Well, I ended up with an additional $120 charged to my card afterwards and still no refund. I waited the 3-5 business days with NO RESOLUTION. Expedia says call the hotel, the hotel says you reserved through Expedia, call them.

Great place to stay in beautiful downtown San Diego. And, not just because it is indeed ever-so close to any and all going on in the, as always, totally hopping Gaslamp District, and, oh yeah, the full & complete nothing but non-stop fun over at Petco Park with the, as always, way cool San Diego Padres. But, what the heck, close enough.

The valet line was a little tricky. Check in was smooth and they were super nice and friendly. My rom was nice an clean. The only thing that would makeit better was a longer stay and a bathtub! Only stayed 1 night for a concert but will definitely stay again.

Booked a two bed room. Received a one bed, 1 hour after check in time and waiting 45 minutes. Only to be given the room as a surprise. The hotel manager was rude during the interaction and did not provide support other than free valet.

One of the Best staffs I've ever had to deal with. Hotel is nice and clean. Roof top is Very nice. Definitely the Hotel I will be staying when I travel to San Diego..

The receptionist was absolutely fantastic upon check in!! He was super nice and really went above and beyond! (I can't remember his name)

Location to Petco Park and the Sea Port. Breakfast grab and go was stated but then we were told later it is only for purchase besides coffee.

Very clean hotel, But rooms were way to small for the price!

Great location and excellent customer service. The hotel has been nicely remodeled, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are on the smaller side, and the bed was a bit too firm for our liking. Valet parking is now $70 per night plus tip, which we felt was overpriced. Overall, it’s a nice hotel, but the parking cost and room comfort may be worth considering.

Overpriced for such a small hotel. No pool. The rooftop is essential on what fees like the 5th floor.
