Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Mission Valley/Zoo

Nice central location, safe, very friendly staff, solid hot breakfast. Shower curtain was mounted too high and caused flooding when we took a shower. One of the TVs in the suite worked fine, the other you had to unplug the hdmi, replug it in, then switch inputs on the TV every time you turned it on. Solid value for the money. Family of 3. Would stay there again.

The floors were not very clean in the lobby and elevator. The bed was quite soft and uncomfortable. The shower curtain was too short resulting in water on the floor with showering. There was no fan working in the bathroom, making drying of towels difficult.

Room was clean and tidy, staff were helpful and nice. The breakfast was very basic I wish they had a bit more variety, the pool was not as warm for a heated pool and there were no towels on all four days we were there. You have to ask for towels at the front desk which defeats the purpose of having the amenities. Overall the hotel is good just not great, I would recommend for anyone traveling with kids.

The facility was well-kept. The staff were helpful. The suites were well-stocked with everything you needed.

Our stay ruined our family vacation. We booked a suite but didn’t get the suite until a day later. The front desk clerk at check-in was unhelpful, saying no suites were available & all rooms were booked. They promised the next day’s manager would call first thing. No one did, & the daytime manager knew nothing about it. Because of the delay, my kids slept on the floor that first night. The room we finally got was poorly maintained: outlets didn’t work, housekeeping never came unless I requested it multiple times, and towels were limited with promises to bring more that never happened. Parking fees were charged despite never being mentioned when booking. A manager was somewhat helpful, offering loyalty points but no refund for the missed night. They said the hotel’s system books rooms based on the guest quantity listed on third-party sites, not the specific suite paid for. Another guest in our party had similar issues: no cleaning, wet tissues never restocked, broken outlets. A staff member in the breakfast area was rude, giving attitude to guests requesting utensils & refills. They talked about guests in Spanish as if I didn’t understand. They pushed my cousin aside and snapped “Excuse me!” without meaning it. Between dismissive staff, malfunctioning amenities, hidden fees,& zero accountability between the hotel and the booking site, this wasn’t worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel & will never stay here again!

Room sucks alarms are going off floor is nasty as well

The room initially allocated was smelly, bathroom door lock was broken, can’t be slided or locked. The staff were very rude and was not ready to change my room. They attempted to fix the door lock but failed and when I asked to change my room for that reason they denied and said all rooms were similar. I have a video of that door. I wasn’t able to cancel, they denied refund. Because we were a party of 6 with elders I had to book another room shelling $$$. I have traveled a lot and have stayed in many hotels, this was the worst stay I ever had and the reception staff were very very rude. Never stay in this hotel

Belle suite, manque un peu d'espace pour déposer des choses dans la salle de bain. Pas de ventilation non plus dans la salle de bain. Petite cuisine agréable. Lit confortable. Petit déjeuner varié. Personnel ok mais rien de plus.

My family doesn't liked never coming back again The food is very bad non good service Room not air-conditioned we go from Room to Room no one answers the phones the building very old swimming pool not clean not twell very bad place to travel in.

Pool and Room NA

The pool was clean as well as entire property. Staff and maintenance was good, had a couple issues in the room but maintenance got right on it. Only thing is in pictures I saw that there was a gaming console, but once we got there it was no longer there. If the gaming console is no longer an option then I suggest removing it from pictures. Everything else was great!

The room itself wasn’t that bad. The beds were comfy and I liked the full size fridge. It stayed cold which was really nice in the summer. However, the toilet seat was peeling and there was no plug in the restroom sink. The parking is kind of atrocious the spots are very small, so there isn’t a lot of space between vehicles. The doors leading outside were all locked so you couldn’t enter them from the outside; we kept having to walk all the way around to the front just to get back in. There were weird/ loud noises in the room each night that kept freaking out my kids. The breakfast was pretty basic and just kind of plain.

Great stay! Perfect for a family of 4, breakfast had options. Room was clean and updated. Have option for laundry if you need it. One of my only cons was none of the side doors were working to get in, you can only use the main entrance and that was tough for bringing in luggage and coming and going. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Super helpful, garage at property if available

When we arrived, I found we had been booked for the wrong room. Due to using third party booking, staff refused to help, stating we could cancel or have them rebook us somewhere else. We ended up keeping the room with one less bed and bought an air mattress for the 3rd person. It felt cold and unwelcoming. Over all the room was clean. We did need to request more towels and extra bedding. Breakfast was good with a variation of breakfast items including eggs, potatoes, waffles, oatmeal, bagels, fresh fruit, and more. Work out gym was pretty nice although the older treadmill wouldn’t read my heart rate. Before leaving I attempted to do laundry and the washer broke twice in the middle of the wash cycle. Maintenance was said to have fixed it both times and we didn’t try for a 3rd. The floor was covered in water. I had to finish washing and rinsing the load in the bathroom sink and then put it in the dryer. They were able to give me a refund in quarters for the washes the next morning. Other than the above complaints, I’d say the pool was very nice and clean, other staff were nice and helpful, and nobody bothered us while we were there.

Loved the updated hotel, our room was fabulous. Ceiling fan was key to our good night sleep. Very comfortable bed. Small pool, but everything else was great

Central to everything and easy to get to Two additional doors, not main entrance, did not work even with key card. Seemed to have been locked.

Only issue was the access control system wasn’t working so we had to use the front entrance every time we returned to the hotel, not very convenient but it wasn’t a huge issue.
