Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and helpful with any questions. For a century old building, it is well maintained. However, be aware, the lone elevator is a bit slow and small in capacity. All in all, I’ve not stayed in a better hotel. I was very pleased.

great spot to stay. cooked meals, explored the city, close to the zoo, and a great walking trail to get to little italy and the waterfront. nice suite with two bedrooms.

Reception was very pleasant and helpful

Loved the room The gym was lacking

It's beautiful for such an old building, the rooms are gorgeous and you can slightly open the windows to get some air which is always nice since rooms can feel stuffy or suffocating. Conveniently right next to the Balboa Park which is a great incentive to stay here and the staff are very welcoming and polite. The main downside about the hotel is their "welcome package" which is basically their timeshare sales representative wasting your time especially if it was a long drive to get there and you just want to set your things down and decompress on your room. As for other cons.. having a single elevator is very frustrating.

Wonderful one bedroom suite. Large and plenty of closet space for long term stays.

Everything from my stay was perfect. The staff is so sweet and attentive. 10/10 stay. Kid friendly, there is park close by! Valet was on it

Great 100 year old hotel. The king suite was spacious and very nice. Only one elevator. We used the stairs most of the time. Top floor has great views. Valet parking only. They will try to sell you a timeshare while you stay there. We will not stay at this hotel again due to the valet and timeshare bs.

Very good

It was good. Parking wasn’t ideal, but that was to be expected.
-
Location Coffee pot lacked instructions, A/C operation instructions not clear, and high pressure tactics to sell time shares to us was not appreciated.

The rooms were very clean and the staff was extremely helpful!

Air conditioning didn't adequately cool room. Location was great, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable (besides the temperature).

Beautiful, spacious room. Nicely updated and well stocked kitchen implements.

Travelled to this hotel with a young child, the hotel was accommodating with sleeping arrangements for an infant. The hotel offers a valet service which you basically have to use as parking is virtually non existent on the property, and they charge 30$ per night you park with valet overnight. The valet staff are mostly unprofessional and when we checked out our car reeked of weed to the point we needed to air the car out, super unprofessional and unacceptable particularly as it was a rental car and we were traveling with our baby. Raised the issue to management and was never contacted about it. Would avoid this property in the future and would advise against staying here unless there are other options available.

Clean rooms, gorgeous view from roof deck, convenient location close to Balboa Park. This is a time share with a sales crew that is always lingering and hosting sales pitches. I would not have booked this hotel if I would have known that.

Beds were amazing, spacious studio with everything you could want/need. Very well appointed. Loved location next to balboa park!! Would definitely recommend and stay here again while visiting San Diego!! Nothing! Loved it!!

The staff is very nice. The location is excellent. The rooms are clean, the kitchen, in our suite was well supplied. There was a dank odor in our room that didn’t go away until our HVAC system was active for almost a full day. The hallway had a similar odor They don’t do any housekeeping, but will replace towels if requested. There is nothing on the TV in the room. I don’t know why it’s there. The lone elevator is very out of date. The license expired in 2023. You get to a floor and you don’t know if the door is going to open or not. It always did, but it was such a long delay that we never stopped worrying, whether it was going to open or not. This was a constant problem on all floors. when prompted, the staff was very dismissive of this problem. The concierge was very focused on getting us to go to a meeting about joining their vacation club. He went on and on about the benefits. It was very hard to be courteous about our lack of interest. There is very good street parking adjacent to the hotel, you just need to sign up for an app to use each time you park. They have valet parking for $30 a day which we did not use. They write that off if you attend their reception for the vacation club. There is a small exercise room and a lounge and deck on the roof, which looked very nice, but we never utilized it.
