Sonesta ES Suites San Diego - Rancho Bernardo

The room was cramped we were welcomed by staff that just seemed to not want to be there. The room needed a little help there was hair on the counter and some cracking in the walls. The breakfast wasn’t quite what we thought based on the advertising. Probably wouldn’t stay again

The staff is amazing - but the management has not kept up with the property. They need more workers. The laundry facility is falling apart. There are several missing weights in the exercise room. Only the 50 pound weights are there. The elevator was broken for a day. I requested maid service three times, and never got it.

Two nights great stay. Will stay there again.

Everything about the hotel was wonderful!

The room I got had ripped carpet that was kind of damp. The stay was okay I just don't enjoy paying for a room with carpet like that

Good facility with a clean environment and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very disappointing. The eggs were watery and mushy, the sausages were cold, and the waffle machine was broken. The orange and apple juice were extremely watered down and tasted more like colored water than juice. Overall, the facility was good, but the breakfast quality needs significant improvement.

It was okay. The trash was not emptied under the sink and there were no coffee filters stocked. The bedroom door would not close. Fine for a one night stay but not great overall as far as the room went.

It was good and very very beautiful. Only thing I can ask for is more blankets and the waffle maker to be fixed. Very good stay otherwise! The whole outside area was very nice and it has a lovely basketball court paired with a beautiful swimming pool. Will come again. And the pull out bed was very helpful.

There was a visible ring on the counter where there was coffee spilled, a fork in the drawer that was dirty, the couch cushions looked dirty, and upon arrival there was a vacuum cleaner left by our door in the hallway. It made me a little uncomfortable with the cleanliness of everything else.

An okay hotel for what it was, nothing exceptional.

Got in late on the first night and upon entering the room it smelled terribly of mold or mildew. Since it was so late and we were tired, we just went to sleep and planned on waiting until the morning to complain about it if if the problem was still there. We went to the Safari park and had a great time and then when we returned to the room it had that same issue,smelled terrible. When I went to the front desk, maintenance came back to the room with me, the staff member said he didn't smell anything which I found very hard to believe. He said he would go back to the front counter and see what he could do. Then an hour went by and I heard no follow-up. So I went to the front desk to ask if there was going to be anything done about the issue and I was told that there are no available rooms and that the staff member said that he couldn't smell anything. So as far as the front desk was concerned, there seemed to be no problem. So I asked another staff member to come with me and this one did say he smelled something but said he thought that it was food. So I explained to him it smelled like that when we first got there and how we were gone all day today and when we return it still smells like that. He recommended that I asked to speak to a manager so I went with him back to the front desk. He talked to the front desk, and then they gave us another room with the caveat that now he has to call another family and tell them they don't have a room anymore.

The rooms were extremely clean, the breakfast good,staff nice and respectful. Everything about this stay was great 👍
