The hotels is in a great central location, but this is a very dated hotel. Its not had any modernisation done since it was built. There is no onsite bar or restaurant, but the pool is a nice add on. My biggest warning to families is the area, whilst closely located to big brand shops, this is a very rough area at night and i would warn anyone with families to look more towards the pier district. There was drug addicts and homeless on every corner and it didn't feel like a safe place. However this is no fault of the hotel, i thought this should be a good warning to other families looking to book. Staff were accommodating and pleasant.

Our stay at this hotel was awesome. Staff is very courteous, helpful, and kind. We would stay here again anytime. It’s a great family hotel. I didn’t go in the pool but it was clean. Thank you Handlery Hotel of SF! You all helped make our trip a lovely one!

the AC was broken, even after maintenance fixing it, it still seem to struggle to get the job done after several hours due to being extremely dated- I’d guess like 25+ years old… So the room was very muggy. The pool downstairs is small and there were so many kids roughhousing that I wasn’t able to go in at any point. Lastly the tv’s are not updated and are old (no streaming platforms and the color is all crazy looking).

The hotel is centrally located in San Francisco. It is very near to the trolley station and BART station. We didn’t have to walk very far. There are a bunch of restaurants around us. The hotel is also affordable. We had a great stay! Would greatly recommend!

The niceties at the Handlery start with the staff. Always attentive with a kind word spoken is exactly what you want your customer service to be. There are two buildings. If you stay in the Premiere Building there’s a nifty mechanical lift to take you from ground level to pool level to access the Premiere Building entrance. My single-king room was spacious with a work area, social area and full balcony. But the “cherry on top,” for me … the shower water pressure. No trickle down element in play here. Water cascaded from the shower spout like it was late for a very important date; steaming-hot too! May I also mention with the room fridge, I took advantage of the Trader Joe’s that’s just three blocks away and a tasty Korean-fusion spot, CoCoBang, that’s two blocks away. The Handlery is simply a win, Win, WiN establishment.

The room was clean, and well kept. The location by the pool was a little noisy in the morning with guests and their children using the beautiful open air pool area. Around the pool area were numerous chairs and tables we hung out on to enjoy breakfast. This made mornings a pleasure between hectic events. All in all this was a wonderful stay and I'd highly recommend!
