AMENITIES: Room was clean, had lots of space, beds were comfy. Plenty of conveniently located outlets, including USB, near the beds and desk. I thought the cost was reasonable and I appreciated the generous cancellation policy and not charging till closer to the date. We loved that it had included parking, AC, and a private bathroom, none of which are necessarily a given in SF -- you have to check that these are included amenities when looking for a hotel. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I SUPER appreciated their flexibility -- we originally had two rooms booked and one of our group cancelled due to a family emergency. I hesitate to mention this because this is obviously an exception and we don't want others to consider it an expectation, but they also went above and beyond by allowing us to cancel 10 hours beyond when the cancellation window ended, and we felt extremely relieved and grateful for the one-time exception. During our stay, we were able to get what we needed in a reasonable length of time. There was no one at the front desk most times we came down, but we were able to press the Ring doorbell to get assistance right away. If I'm being honest, we did kind of feel like we were a bother when we asked for things (like when our room key got demagnetized), but we did get what we needed as well. CANCELLATION POLICY: Generous cancellation policy when we booked and no charge until right before our stay. Unfortunately, I went to book again for next year and it seems they changed it to a very strict cancellation policy where you can only cancel within 24 hours of booking and they charge right away as opposed to closer to our stay -- I hope this changes back! PRICE AND LOCATION: It was super reasonably priced for a large event weekend. The location was wonderful, very close to Golden Gate Park, cute little cafe right next door (expensive, but delicious), and it felt safe and quiet during sleeping hours. PARKING IS LIMITED: The parking lot is small and fills up. It is first come, first served, so be aware that you might need to find street parking on a super busy weekend. We did get one spot for the one room we had, but I'm not sure if they have one spot per room (maybe they do, just not sure). We unfortunately ended up having to bring two cars, and the street parking was *extremely* difficult to find in this area during our stay (not a knock on the hotel, just still something to know for planning). NO ELEVATOR: There is no elevator. Can be tricky to carry luggage up if you have a lot or if heavy. That being said, our expectations were still met, if not exceeded, and we look forward to staying here again!

For SF, it’s excellent value! Love the location across the street from Ocean Beach and a couple of blocks from Golden Gate Park. Also love the convenience of free parking and Java Beach Cafe on the corner (super delicious breakfast burrito!). There are also lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Here and there the finishings are a little janky but the place is sparkling clean. The beds are comfy with nice linens and the people are nice. Our room (112) was really big. Two queen beds and a couch. Mini fridge and microwave are handy. We liked being right on the street to look out at the J Church, people walking by and a view towards the ocean. Yes, the J Church is loud and also we could hear people above us and walking down the stairwell loudly and clearly! We live in a city apartment so that doesn’t bother us. We stayed there 4 nights and then later 1 night. Will stay there again next time we’re in SF!
