The hotel was clean and staff were great. With the current construction, some temporary amenities are poor, however overall great stay

Although we were only in town for 1 evening for a Giants game the hotel was fantastic, even with the renovations going on. The room itself was clean, beds were very comfortable, and there were amenities included that aren’t typically offered with your typical hotel (Nespresso Machine and Robes). The bar was a great atmosphere in the evening. The best part of our stay was the staff. From the moment we arrived at the valet we were greeted with smiles and amazing service.

Quite literally the only issue I had was with the Valet parking . Understandably it was really busy because of all the events going on ; but I was advised by the valet to pay instead for a parking garage at SFMoMo next door . Hotel was absolutely immaculate. Service was amazing. Staff reached out before & after my stay. Would definitely recommend . I was in a corner room with an amazing view of the city. It is currently undergoing remodeling on the first floor so be sure to read up on the notes within your emails & reservations.

Good location, nice staff. They are undergoing renovations so it is a bit confusing to navigate. Also, its hard to tell its a hotel from outside.

The room was great, we got upgraded to a city view. The hotel was going through major renovations one night. We were hearing construction noise after 10 PM. But let the front desk know. The bed was great. The pillows were amazing.. Location was good too. Once a construction is done there I’m sure it will be a beautiful property. We stayed there mostly for location purposes because our family lives close by. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Was a very nice, friendly and clean hotel. Was hard to get the full experience due to all of the construction/ remodeling that was going on. Would stay here again once finished :)

Within approximately 15 minutes of checking out on Saturday, June 20th at around 12:00 PM, my friend realized she had accidentally left a pair of diamond earrings in the room we had just vacated. We immediately contacted the hotel and returned right away in an effort to recover the item. Upon arrival, however, the front desk clerk was unhelpful and spoke to us in a rude manner. We were also not permitted to return to the room or the area where my friend had been getting dressed to personally check for the missing earrings. Given the very short time frame between checkout and our return, as well as our urgency in attempting to recover a sentimental family heirloom, we are very disappointed with how the situation was handled. At this point, it appears the earrings are no longer recoverable. We acknowledge our own oversight in leaving the item behind and understand that responsibility ultimately rests with the guest. However, we would have greatly appreciated a more supportive and cooperative response from staff, especially given the immediate nature of our request.

Love this hotel! Awesome views and lots of convenient perks like cafes and a spa on property for people who might like to stay on campus to decompress. Like me haha.

Great experience at the W in San Francisco. The remodeling made it hard to fully enjoy the hotel and lobby area as it used to be very fun and lively. I am sure the new remodel will be just as lovely. But the room we had was amazing. We were upgraded since they knew it was our 20th wedding anniversary. We are thankful to the great staff who made our stay lovely.

After seeing all of that, I did not feel comfortable in the room and honestly felt like I was sleeping in a space that had not been properly cleaned. On top of that, the room was very noisy and we did not get good sleep. We called the front desk to ask about the noise, but they were not really able to do anything. Overall, this was a really disappointing stay, especially for a suite. I would consider other properties for future stays in San Francisco.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was how easy it was to explore the city on foot. Start your morning with breakfast at The Grove, enjoy happy hour with bay views at Waterbar, and finish the evening with excellent sushi and Japanese cuisine at Ozumo. If you’d rather stay in, the hotel itself offers a great atmosphere for drinks, dinner, and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The W combines a stylish, modern vibe with a prime downtown location, making it an excellent choice for anyone visiting San Francisco. I would definitely stay here again

I booked room with Expedia with 3 friends and they canceled my room we took the train out there then road the ferry to have a good time and they had no consideration very rude all because they would not except 300 cash deposit I had to walk to the bank 5 minutes away and that was there excuse to cancel room for no reason left us stuck in SF worst place ever racism at its finest! 700$ room and they treated me and my family so horribly wrong I never recommend this hotel ever !

I loved the location, the staff were very helpful. It was close to public transport and it's right next to the MoMA.

Cons: Short Front Desk Staff, Very Small Lobby and Bar Area (Made it worst during renovation) Overall: Enjoyed Our Stay

Food MEGA EXPENSIVE $69.00 for waffles, chicken and OJ. Wagyu beef burger was spoiled- disgarded. That was $49.00. Order UBEREATS when in SF.
