The room was large, and basic but adequate. The hotel itself feels safe, with an electronic lock and nothing on the ground floor. The real problem with this hotel is the noise. My room overlooked a back alley where there were people staying all night, and playing loud music intermittently for up to an hour at a time into the early hours of the morning, which the windows did nothing to block out. The sirens earlier in the night were also incredibly disruptive.

I was very disappointed. I was not previously informed that there was an absolute two person limit to the room. I was also not informed that a single room deposit to even check in was $250. They did not state that on the website nor was it mentioned through Expedia. The area in which the hotel was located was also a high activity area for homeless to hang out around in congregate. I was very nervous and stressed out even being out of hotel room past 7:30 PM. This is unacceptable and want a refund.

Staff was helpful. Location was great, mattresses need to be better.
-
Terrible place, junkies outside.
-
It’s cheap and you can trust the concierge Too many homeless outside the main entrance
-
Out of their control, but there were large gatherings of homeless people directly outside the door. They didn't cause any issues for me even being by myself, but just something to be wary of.

The hotel is near the Main Street and the Market Street so it makes it easy to access via BART and Muni. There are: - drug traffickers - drug sale - junkies Lots of human feces, garbage. Right in front of the hotel door there are strip clubs right next door. The place is so bad that I can't even explain. The elevator doesn't work half the time. It is as bad as it can possibly get.

Terrible location, no warning. It is located in the "famous" 6th street which I learned about the it when I arrived at 1am. Be ready to stay with zombies especially at the evening. Saying "no safe" is not enough to describe the situation and there was no warning about it from the hotel.

Good for my needs. Neighborhood is sketchy

Good for this price. Much better than same value hotels

The staff person was very nice. He was helpful and understanding, although he wasn't clear as to why I was expecting to be able to let in after midnight when my flight got delayed. The area is FULL of homeless people, making it very noisy, very dirty, and very smelly. The check in process (completely unavailable after midnight, which wasn't disclosed over text until the day of arrival) makes no sense for such an area in which it can be dangerous to stay outside late. Even though check in should be until 12 midnight, they ask for an extra fee after 11 pm (again, not disclosed until the day of arrival). I am not sure what they mean by 24 hours security, but if the front desk is unavailable after midnight, and there is no hired security personnel on duty, I would not advertise this as 24 hours security. Bathrooms were clogged and slightly dirty a few times.

The Winsor Hotel is beautiful on the inside. And what a masterful job has been done so everything feels and looks fresh and new and first-class, while retaining the old-world charm of San Francisco. I say thank you.

Room was clean and pretty accurate to what is shown in the pictures. The location is terrible. The street is completely owned by homeless people, and some of them are right in front of the door. It felt very unsafe

Location, security, accommodating staff, clean room, near convenience stores

La actitud de la persona de recepcion

It can get loud at night outside—bring your earplugs. Otherwise clean. Bed is okay.

I got robbed on the way to the hotel.

It's SF - if you've ever been and know downtown Tenderloin District - it's not the best location, BUT, having said that, this building is quite clean. Once you get in, it's quiet. The hallways are clean. The room was basic, what else do you need? Clean hardwood floors, bed and sink with TV. I was uneasy about the shared bathrooms, but there are two showers and two toilets on each floor - both well maintained and cleaned. I had no issues at all. The purpose of SF, is to leave and explore so I was only there for the sleep each night. I would book it again - check in was easy and the staff were really friendly. If you're looking for clean accommodation downtown and priced well - this is your place!

Location is excellent. Be ready for agglomeration of homeless right there by the hotel door.
