1. Upon entering, there’s a counter that appears to be the check-in desk. I handed over my ID and they took my information, only to then tell me that this wasn’t actually the check-in counter, and that I needed to go to another one in a different corner. I registered at the real front desk, got my keys, and was ready to head to my room but then the first counter told me I still had to finish with them. It felt illegitimate, so I refused. The person then loudly read out my personal information (which he’d taken earlier) and asked me to confirm it. 2. The WiFi wasn’t free. 3. They don’t clean your room during your stay. You can ask for towels and bed sheets. It’s a real pity, because these three disappointments have nothing to do with the room itself, which is actually lovely. The bathroom is beautiful and spacious, and the double shades on the windows helped me sleep really well. The room is nice, and the property is well maintained. I’m torn about giving a low rating, but I was so annoyed why such a big brand hotel hotel allowed a sales counter to be labeled “Front Desk” when it clearly isn’t. The actual check-in desk has the same label, which feels deliberately misleading. It’s especially frustrating after a long flight, when all you want is to enjoy beautiful San Francisco and your first experience at your sanctuary is a sales gimmick.

Great location. Staff was very helpful
-
High noise levels from the street on the bottom floor and the fridge. Room was darker and colder than expected.

Staff was nice. This was booked for me by someone else so I forgive that they tried to pitch their time share with me and they were not pushy when I told them I had to go. While I understand that this property is an old building the upkeep of the renovation is abysmal. Every piece of furniture was damaged in some way. None of the TVs worked.

Great location. Large clean room. They have sales guys in the lobby give you a sales pitch when you check in, and they asked a ton of questions about my stay and what I was doing that was pushing the boundaries of friendliness, but it was a good experience outside of that. I wouldn't doc them a star on that, and I would stay here again.

Nice rokm but really loud.
-
Hot water took a very long time to heat up, 1 elevator, too much time share pressure
-
Shops are within walking distance. Several places to eat are also within walking distance.
-
It's an older place and the rooms go from teeny-tiny to normal. Inner rooms don't have any view. The staff was nice but they are trying to sell timeshares so beware. Decent location just a couple blocks uphill from Union Square

Clean, comfortable, quiet, in a great part of the city.

I would not do this again. Very dissatisfied.

very good. no free wifi? amazing that this is not available. will not recommend this hotel based on this
-
Great location but staff was not engaging. There was an urgency to purchase timeshare at the location. WiFI is not included with stay.

I stayed for a 3-day business trip. It was a lovely place but the noise of the street was crazy. I live in NYC and never had a similar experience. It is as if I was sleeping on the side of the road. No room service. No free wifi. All I wanted was to get some sleep and have clean beds. Asked the front desk. Nice people but the only positive suggestion was for next stay I should ask to stay on the other side of the building. I do not think there will be another time for me.
