Villa Motel

It's fine. Nothing fancy. Basic motel. I'm not in the room much so, it'll do. I simply need a place to sleep and shower. The staff is super friendly. Towels are extremely rough and I wish it had better pillows.

My incredibly hard-working hostess and her mom gave me great advice as to where to eat and what to do: Lure Restaurant was great, as was the incredible Farmer's Market. The bed was comfy, and everything in the room and bathroom worked fine. SLO always has great shopping and things to see. It is always odd when no exterior lights are on after dark (the motel sign and the lights by the doors), but I'm assuming they are passing on those savings in electricity to us, as the rate was very good for the area. While the exterior of the building has recently had a nice new coat of paint, clearly it is time for new curtains (mine had a grim brown stain) and bedstead backs (the surface of mine was peeling off). It is always odd when no exterior lights are on after dark (the motel sign and the lights by the doors), but I'm assuming they are passing on those savings in electricity to us, as the rate was very good for the area. It was sad to see the landlady doing all the room work; she seemed exhausted. And where is the fixit man?

Nice old facility next to downtown SLO. The manager Debra was friendly and genial.

Staff were extremely helpful & kind. Accommodations were equal to cost.

We were really just looking for a clean place to shower and sleep. In this regard the room served our needs. The room was very dark and there wasn't much room on the left side of the bed. There was no cold water in the sink (which we knew about before taking the room,) and limited hot water in the shower. No housekeeping was provided during our stay. About 3 hours before check in we were called and told there were no ground floor rooms available (which we had requested a month earlier when we made the reservation,) but by the time we checked in, they were able to give us one.

Beds were comfortable, rooms clean, great shower, fridge+freezer+microwave, friendly accommodating staff, excellent location. No complaints.

Our room had nice high ceilings, a mini fridge and a microwave. It's also on Monterey St, which is a 5 minute drive from anywhere downtown in SLO. Lots of people walk downtown too. I was driving an EV, and L2 charged across the street at La Quinta, which allows non-guests to charge. The owner was very helpful.

Staff was extremely helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. They also let me check out at noon instead of 11 am which made a world of difference. Thank you! Also I loved the microwave and mini fridge. :D
