Lina Point Belize Overwater Resort

Delicious breakfast. Front desk Brittany was very accommodating and sweet went out her way to make us drinks at the pool. Bar tender and breakfast chefs were very nice! On site restaurant closed early and the facility was about a mile to walk downtown. Rooms were run down and poor internet service. No tv channels available in the rooms. Regular rooms were small missing bedside table. Bungalow rooms were more impressive. Pool was nice with a small bar which unfortunately closed too early.

We had a villa, not to be confused with the over water huts. Villa 41 does not have a pool but is a large home with fully stocked kitchen. Ample towels and linens Great beds and showers are good The back faces the water but not the beach More or an intercostal water way We thought the house had a pool from the booking site but the hotel did have a shared one

My partner and I recently spent my birthday at Lina Point Overwater Resort, and I cannot say enough good things about this hidden gem. From the moment we arrived on Wednesday, March 18th, we were treated like royalty. We were greeted by Pedro at the front desk, who was fantastic—polite, fast, and incredibly efficient, which we really appreciated after a long day of travel. Since we were tired, we decided to eat on-site at The Mayan. Even though it was their final night before closing for renovations, the service didn't miss a beat. Asain, our waiter and bartender, was super friendly and attentive. Chef Julissa is a master of her craft—everything she prepared was cooked to absolute perfection. The welcome drink was the perfect refreshing touch to kick off the vacation! The next two mornings, we headed back for breakfast and were greeted by Britney. She is absolutely lovely and so inviting; her energy is the perfect way to start a Belizean morning. The overwater bungalow itself was a dream. If you are looking to unplug, this is the place to do it. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views are simply unmatched. A huge shoutout to our housekeepers, Gian and Jennifer, who kept our space immaculate, neat, and tidy throughout our stay. The staff at Lina Point—Pedro, Asain, Julissa, Britney, Gian, and Jennifer—truly made my birthday memorable. We liked our plunge pool. The staff was great as well. Many parts of the building and the grounds need a refresh.

I loved Lina Resort but the listing was a bit misleading. The villa we stayed in is owned by someone else and managed by Lina. While was great, we thought breakfast was included.

There’s a new restaurant/club with live entertainment that was built last year. The food and drinks were delicious. Breakfast and dinner was also great in front of the pool. The staff left a beautiful decoration for my birthday in my room. My shower water was colder than the wash bowl in the bathroom.

The hotel staff was welcoming and accommodating when you could find them. They put in long hours. I appreciated being welcoming with a smile any time I ran into staff at the hotel. I also liked the option in my overwater bungalow of the swing or the hammock. In addition, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND walking to the Farmhouse market right across the street from the hotel entrance. It’s about an 8 minute walk! I really wanted to love this hotel. It looked great on paper but the cleanliness was definitely lacking. The private pool was filled with debris. The pool was not cleaned during our stay. Additionally, the bathroom looks like it didn’t get enough attention when cleaning. There was hair all over the soap dish upon arrival from body parts that are not appropriate to mention in case children are reading this. Those same types of hair were found on the hair dryer. I could not use these items because I was disgusted. Outside of town and you will need a golf cart rental or taxi service to get around. Make sure you bring lots of cash if you opt for a taxi. It’s $15 to/from town

2. Great location—convenient, quiet, and peaceful. 3. Excellent hospitality. Pedro is very responsive on WhatsApp and helped us make dinner reservations and book excursions. 4. Complimentary transportation was punctual and very convenient. 1. Housekeeping is subpar. While the villa is generally clean, there were some significant housekeeping issues: a. There was hair on the shower walls that did not belong to us. b. Two of the bath towels had large yellow stains. All bath towels were wet upon arrival, and we had to dry them ourselves. c. There was mold on the shower curtain in the smaller bathroom. d. One of the bedrooms had a strong unpleasant smell that did not go away even after changing the bed sheets. We suspect it was coming from the mattress itself. I would like to thank Pedro again for his efforts to resolve these issues. I’m not sure whether this is a hotel-wide problem or specific to the housekeeper assigned to our villa. After we informed Pedro about the hair in the shower, the housekeeper only cleaned one shower wall—there was still hair on the other wall after she left. She removed the moldy inner white liner of the shower curtain but left the outer curtain, which frankly was not much cleaner. She also informed us that the shower curtain would not be replaced because none were available. We stayed at villas and hotels in San Ignacio and Hopkins that were very clean, so we expected at least the same level of cleanliness here. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. 2. Insufficient hot water. There was not enough hot water for all four of us to shower at night. A maintenance worker was sent after our first night, and we were told the water heater had been installed incorrectly and could not be fixed at the moment. As a result, three of us could shower in somewhat warm water, while the fourth person inevitably ended up with cold water midway through their shower. Minor issues (not deal breakers): 1. Bed sheets are polyester. Material is not breathable and gets hot at night. 2. Only one hair dryer was provided for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom villa. 3. Both of the TVs in the living room and master bedroom didn’t work well. We had live TV in the living room, but no streaming services.

The staff was amazing! I was a solo traveler and my first time there so I was nervous but David helped me with everything! From getting my golf cart all the way to getting me to the airport to get home. The bartenders are fun and had plenty of knowledge about the island on what to go see and where to eat! It was quiet and comfortable!

Super cool spot right on the lagoon. It's a little bit outside of the central town area so we rented a golf cart. But they picked us up from the water taxi for free which was helpful. Nice restaurant on site where you can grab free coffee in the mornings. Inside our room was very quiet and peaceful. We slept great here!

It wasn't dirty just a little dusty. I'm a clean freak, others might be fine with it

The room had everything I needed and the location was perfect. It was very serene and quiet.

You definitely need a golf cart to get around, the resort is not close to town, it would be nice to have a chair in the room, and I feel the place could use a maintenance person, the resort is not that old and it could use some sprucing up.

Wonderful stay in one of the overwater bungalows which faced west so we had great sunsets too. Loved having our own private little pool and watching the fish through the glass floor! Restaurant was excellent too. It's a 10 minute walk from any other restaurant or stores. We didn't get a golf cart but you can rent them if you want.
