The hotel is located next to the ocean. It has a great view, a high ceiling, and an amazing pool. The room has a balcony with a hanging hammock for relaxation. There is also a coffee table and chairs on the balcony. I like pretty much all of it.

April 2026. The Sandbar Hotel was a good location as it was centrally located in the small town of San Pedro, and it was located directly on the beach. HOWEVER, the beach is horrible. No swimming. The beach and all of the shallow water is full of decomposing seaweed and trash that the hotel has not cleaned in months. I was told that it is always like this. BEWARE. April 2026. The Sandbar Hotel is NOT a beach vacation destination. You will NOT be able to swim AT ALL on the beach in front of the Sandbar (and most all of the hotels in San Pedro are non-swimmmable) due to the smelly decomposing sargassum (seaweeds). See my photos. The beach at the Sandbar Hotel is completely used as a parking lot BECAUSE it is NOT for swimming. Also, the Sandbar Hotel beach is full of general trash. The sargassum and trash are just rotting in piles on the beach. NO ONE swims here.

I was right next to the ocean, it was nice to have a fridge and we didn't use the kitchen much but it was available. The pool was nice. The nearby nightclubs are open until 3:00 a.m. And then people stand outside the hotel and talk loudly and play music past 3 an. Not a good, restful sleep. Bad location if you're looking for any rest.

Staying in San Pedro? Stay here! Lots of boats traffic and no beach, but can't have everything. Take a paddle board out and go for a swim

Location and cost were excellent! It was clean, bathrooms are washed and tidied up at 8,2 and 5 pm daily. There are lots of people staying so hallways are noisy! Need your own lock! That people checkin you in forget to point out where the bathrooms are, and that breakfast is complimentary from 8-10. There should be a protocol they follow; like a list of 5 things they must say to every new guest and it would be perfect then!

I honestly couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The location was absolutely perfect & close to everything but still relaxing and quiet. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, which made it easy to actually get good rest while traveling (which doesn’t always happen!). The accommodations were next level from the free breakfast to the free washer machines. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and well taken care of, and you can tell they really put effort into the guest experience. The restaurant was also excellent & the food was great and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. And the rooftop pool was the cherry on top. Such an awesome spot to relax and take in the view. It really made the whole stay feel a little extra special. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The club was heard a couple times while I was sleeping but other than that we are good.

Even though it was a hoste, we had a great stay as a couple. Our private room had a balcony looking out to the ocean which was nice while we winded down after a full day of activities. Our safe didn't work. Folks hang outside all night but that didn't bother us and we still slept well.

The roof top, infinity, pool, overlooking the ocean was gorgeous. I sat there for hours and watched the huge pelicans fly by. The whole roof was so comfortable with a pool side area and a huge comfy lounge area on the roof and the first floor. The breakfast was free, there was filtered water available so bring your own water bottle and avoid buying single use plastic water bottles! Laundry was available to do yourself (just buy the detergent at the desk), the bathrooms were super clean. The dorms were very quiet and beds were super comfy with shelf, light, plug and curtain and huge locker. The only trouble I had was the little ladder to get to the top bunk but other than that, this place as one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at.

Centralized location. Clean and organized. Complimentary things: washer/dryer, paddle boards! My security card didn’t function for two days. Had to stick my finger in a whole and press a button to get in room.

Food was great. Hotel was the best part of the island. Loved the pod style beds in the shared rooms Location is a bit boring. Nothing to do on the island. The hotel was the best part. It saved the trip.
