I loved the vibe of this hotel - very old school. It’s definitely dated, so keep that in mind. Location is awesome, and price isn’t bad. The bed was not super comfortable and, as other reviews mentioned, the outside noise was a bit much (& I live in a city, so I’m used to it!).

Shower not good, low water pressure. Fridge made a lot of noise.

Excellent location. The view was amazing. Simple and comfortable. Luxury is given by awesome staff, cleanliness and a traditional breakfast, served perfectly by the cook . We had the most perfect scrambled eggs ever. We didn’t expect it for such a low rate. Will come back for sure. I could use an update in beddings and some decoration.

I love the 80s decor, the analog phone, and the decorations. The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff is very very kind and helpful. The breakfast that's included in the room is decent. While the rooms facing the beautiful urban forest are lovely, they driving cars are loud. I recommend that people bring ear plugs.

Location

Location was great and staff did their best to be accommodating. Our room the first night was dirty and the bathroom disgusting. The staff moved us to a better room the second night, but the bathroom was also in poor shape- toilet broke twice and the raised bathtub/shower required me to bend over to avoid my head hitting the ceiling. Towels were also very worn with one set having a big hole. The breakfast area on the 6th floor is actually quite charming and the included breakfast is minimal, but good- scrambled eggs, coffee, toast, orange juice, and ham and cheese slices If you are looking for a low priced hotel in a great location, this may fit the bill if you are willing to put up with a dated property with overall low expectations.

Best possible location for exploring Santiago. Front desk staff is polite, professonal and competent. Same applies for the restaurant staff. They all really make a difference. The hotel is old. I personally don't mind old buildings; however, this may take some guests away. Had it been fully renovated, preserving its original nature, it would cost probably triple or more than what I paid, thus one has to remind themselves of that.

Great location near the Belles Artes, adjacent to Cerro Santa Lucia. Building is likely an old apartment converted to hotel or perhaps has always been a hotel. I would guess it was built ~1910 or so. Very old-school feel and vibe, perhaps a bit spooky to some. Too bad that the radiators were not functioning and had been replaced by a forced air heater/cooling unit, which was loud. Overall, the hotel could use some modernization (e.g., get rid of the old wallpaper), fixing deteriorating parts, etc. Lots of deferred maintenance.

We loved Don Santiago who works in the bar. What a gentleman! Also the warmth of servers at breakfast was an excellent start to our day.

The most helpful, friendly staff! Great location within walking distance of many Santiago attractions. Safe part of town

A little noisy and the room is a little dated.

WiFi was poor and cellular connection was down to 3G

Excellent location, close to many parks and restaurants/bars. Very friendly and helpful staff all around from the front desk to maids to restaurant and bar staff. All excellent. Breakfast good. Restaurant good. Bar good. The room was old, dark and funky. In need of serious updates. While I would not call it dirty, it had a patina. Peeling paint and wallpaper. I would come back to visit the bar or restaurant but I don't think I'd stay here again.

Nice hotel with nice rooms WiFi was not stable

I give 9 for value for money. The room could be smarter and the bathroom needs refurbishing but everything worked and was clean and comfortable. The area with the beds in was small but there was a separate seating area with sofa and tv and a large wardrobe so actually plenty of space. Breakfast was also fine. A set meal so don't expect an endless buffet. We were given coffee, orange juice, toast, jam, some ham and cheese and scrambled eggs. Same every day but considering how cheap the room was, we're not complaining. Great location, an easy walk from the historic centre with plenty of bars and restaurants around. Overall this was great value for money. We would stay here again. Nothing wrong - based on the price. If you want more luxury then you have to pay more elsewhere.

The location was great. Soon as you turn the corner you are next to everything A little outdated. There was a lot of layers on the bed.
