The hotel is in a good central location. The included breakfast was simple but good. The service was great. We stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago and nothing has changed. The hotel can use an upgrade. The rooms, especially the bathroom, is not very well lit. I had to use a mirror in the hallway outside the room. The shower was hard to figure out and the water was not hot.

Nice location, very flexible: we had to change the date last minute because we missed the flight due to delays. The hotel changed our reservation. Thank you. The internet is not working properly

location and friendly staff breakfast was ok not a lot of options

Everything except the rubbish WiFi
-
The only downside was the wifi - quite often it didn’t work. But for holidays that’s not that important.

Excellent location for eating and shopping in the beautiful town center. But TAKE CARE about the so-called Tourist Guides outside of the hotel trying to sell guided tours. I pre-payed ONE HUNDRED EURO for an agreed price of two-hundred euro covering a full guided round-trip on Fogo island including volcano visit. When walking up an volcano the guide told me being only participant that the walk was a change in schedule and the full price would be ONE THOUSAND EURO - and that he had access to a credit card machine. I decided to leave the minibus and walk all the way back to Sao Philipe. Next day the host of Hotel Savana told me that he is an authorized tourist guide and the he did NOT do anything illegal - believe it or not... Nothing about the hotel - but the Police should get rid of these Outside Tourist Guides IMMEDIATELY !

This is one of the best places to stay in the historic city: in a few minutes you go down to the shops, the church, the market and the 2 museums. I think we had the best room in this old colonial house: nr. 2 on the ground floor. A huge, high room with seaview and a terrace in front, quietly situated (except sometimes footsteps above). There are a few steps: only 14 to the frontdoor, afterwards 15 to the little swimmingpool, and a few to the breakfastroom. The beds are quite good and the breakfast is generous. Everything is very clean and the people at the reception are always kind and helpful. For your eveningmeal there are a few good restaurants closeby (e.g. Tropical and Colonial). For trips to the vulcano or around the island, there are 2 agencies, or you can hire a taxi. We paid for a taxi with an English speaking driver (Edmar Alves) for these 2 half-day trips CVE 9.000.- each, for 2 persons. We can highly recommend this hotel! We did not always have good warm water..

Large and beautiful room with a view downwards on Sao Felipe and Brava further in the ocean. Chill place around the (small) swimming pool, perfect to take a rest in-between activities.
-
Lovely old colonial house, lovely breakfast and great coffee! Shower was cold for the two nights we were there. We were told it was because of the solar panels and no sun but there was plenty of sunshine.
-
the beds were too firm...room was a bit small

Very friendly staff. Beautiful historical building.

We would highly recommend The hotel Savana for your Sao Filipe stay.

Great location and great old colonial building with lots of light! We had room 1 (one of the big rooms on the front) and it’s lovely. We had only cold water but they offered another room or use the shower in another room. We chose to stay in the same room but shower in a room with hot water. The big room is really nice. They know about the water issue and are working on it. Nice little pool with beds or chairs. Several places to lounge with view on Brava. The staff is very nice! The manager is super friendly (French). The breakfast is good.. anything you ask they help Everything was great!

Excellent breakfast. Lovely location. Beautiful room with fabulous view over the sea. No hot water wasn’t great - it was hot though, so lukewarm water wasn’t too bad.
-
Characterful, high quality accommodation in a converted colonial house in a quiet location in central Sao Filipe. Very comfortable rooms with nice sitting area around plunge pool in the court. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Hot water could be hotter

Beautiful property, lovely style. The deluxe suite is stunning and worth upgrading to, we stayed in both a normal room and the suite and it was a completely different experience! Great location. Breakfast could maybe have a few more options if I’m being picky

Very nice building, in colonial style of the town (which is on the tentative Unesco world heritage list!). The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had a really nice time! The room was very large and spacious, and we had windows on the street side (facing the sea) with amazing views. Everything was really good, only point of improvement may be water temperature (warm is not really warm, but lukewarm), but this seems to be a general issue in Cabo Verde, not just this hotel!
