Vila Rock Hostel

Location is great and close to the metro, staff super helpful and good vibes. I feel they don’t clean the rooms. When sharing a room for more than 5 people cleaning must be daily, and I stayed 3 nights and I never saw the room being cleaned nor the inside toilet. I suggest improving in this.

The room had a weird smell.

The staff were amazing, very comfortable environment and I felt safe. They made a real effort to be welcoming and speak English to me I booked a female only form and paid for that and a man was put in our dorm for one of the nights I was there. I was very surprised when I came back to find him in our dorm. I didn’t appreciate that, especially when I have most likely paid more for a female only form as you do

Beds were comfortable and had curtains, free welcome drink was nice. Rooms got incredibly hot, and they didn't turn on the AC unless you asked. Window was left open when it was pouring with rain and flooded the room and wet our bags. There was a power outage for over 24 hours and limited communication about when it would be resolved. Other guests were loud at all times of the night (eg 5am), a noise curfew should be enforced. Location is not great, hostel is far from most things but it is close to the metro if you feel safe enough to use it (so not really at night).

The staff was really amazing, cheerful, educated and helpful. Reception guy Enrique and cleaning lady Nereida were fantastic. I arrived earlier that the check in time. I was tired of a long trip. They made possible to accomodate me even before I was supposed to. There is nothing that I can complain of

Amazing staff, always friendly and helpful with everything I asked, even if it wasn't organized by the hostel. Also most of the hostel was very clean. The mattress was plastic coated which let to the cover coming off while sleeping. Sometimes it smelled a bit in the dorm rooms.

The location was ok. Richard was super nice Could need more bathrooms, the staff forgot to turn on the AC so my roomate needed to ask them all the time. And the cleaner comes in cleaning really early

Luciano was a really good host doing a day trip and a walking tour and creating a good atmosphere Place could use some renovation, bathroom of my private room couldn't be closed from outside, place was a bit rundown in general, common areas need improvement to create more of a social vibe. If you are in a dorm they only permit AC at night

very clean place, staff was super helpful and friendly. 5 minute walk to metro and some bus stations nearby. if you forget to bring anything, they sell a lot of higiene products and even some little trinkets! the only negative I can think of is that the bunk beds are a little awkward to climb on, but that is more about their design than the place

Friendly and helpfull staff. Good location

Really enjoyed our stay. Every single staff member we met was so welcoming and lovely. They even made us a free caiprinha which was a great way to get to know other guests. The rooms are all really quirky and unique. Would recommend to anyone!
