Great location, safe neighborhood.

The staff is so hospitable and friendly: always ready to help, provide with tips about the city, etc. They also organize events for the guests, like a free guided tour to the nearest artesanal market on weekends. But it's not a party place, it's pretty quiet actually. Great location (the metro is in a short walking distance), super clean, comfy spacious beds with curtains. I haven't used the kitchen, but it looks well equipped. And there is a small coworking space, which I appreciated a lot Would absolutely come back!

The staff were super friendly and helpful :) The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were single unit and spacious. The beds had curtains and decent sized lockers/wardrobe. The kitchen in the hostel is amazing, with all the necessities, and plenty of space to cook. It's not a party hostel, and is generally pretty chill, but the staff make an effort to organise events depending on what the guests want to do. I did a tour of museums on Paulista Av with Matheus which was awesome! The location is amazing and right next to metro which is perfect. Also some cool bars, shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overall a great stay :D Nada

Very friendly staff that helped me get acquainted in the new city. Also, the other hostel guests were very kind and helpful! Would recommend.

The best part about the hostel was the staff, really friendly and the vibe was good, I extended a few nights, it’s also clean and good location close to metro station Had some issues with the code at night and reception is not 24h but managed to enter at the end

The location and infrastructure, besides the staff is wonderful, the weekly activities and recommendations for Sao Paulo city walk and tourist attractions are very cool!

The vibe was great and facilities are clean

Comfortable beds with privacy curtains

It’s a really calm and comfy place! Nice kitchen to cook, private spaces in the beds with the curtains! The femenine room has a private bathroom.

Very helpful staff, very good location. Bedding was quite small for the mattress, showers can be better, if breakfast was included that would be awesome.

The Location, the cleanliness and the friendly staff. For someone staying in a private room, I recommend paying a bit more and staying at a 3 star hotel like Ibis. My room ( room nr 2) was no way 15 m2 as advertised. It was more like 10 m2. There were no hooks to hang clothes, the blanket that was on the bed was ok, but I was still cold and asked for an additional blanket. What I got was a very light thin bed cover that was not a blanket. They leave all doors open until 11 PM I believe and it can be cold and drafty. I stayed in May 2025 ( autumn in Brazil). It would be impossible to sleep in room 2 in the peak of summer without air conditioning which it does not have. It will likely also be very cold in July August ( winter) since the window is old and a thin glass sheet. I also did not like the check-in whereby they take a picture of your documents AND also take a picture of yourself. I found it very invasive and I even wonder if this does not go against the Brazilian Data Protection Law.

I felt really at home at lamparina! the hostel is designed in a very social way, i found it really easy to meet people. the staff is super lovely. it's a very familiar vibe but they'll let you know about parties in the neighborhood so its also a great place if you want to go out. the hostel itself is quiet at night. i would definetly go back! especially as a solo traveller. also everything was really clean.

great location and friendly helpful staff. The showers are not very powerful or hot but were ok

The guy from the reception spoke good English and was really helpful. They also accommodated my last minute request. Location was ok but not really next to anything interesting. Also, zero socialization and no activities offered. Most people I met there during my stay were actually people who lived there rather than tourists. Most staff didn’t speak English at all which made it difficult to communicate and understand each other.

Aline the owner was super nice and very helpful in planning our stay in São Paulo and even the rest of our trip. The hostel is very cute and clean, especially very nice bathrooms.
