Located on a cliff top, overlooking Scarborough’s award-winning North Bay Beach, the family-run The Rockside offers free Wi-Fi and magnificent sea views. It is just 3 minutes’ walk from Scarborough Castle. The rooms boast a flat-screen LCD TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The modern en suite shower rooms have a hairdryer. Many feature fantastic sea views. Ironing supplies are available upon request. In the mornings, The Rockside serves full English breakfast in the dining room, along with cereals, yogurt, and fruit. Breakfast is prepared using locally sourced produce. In the evenings, drinks are available from the bar in the guest lounge, which features views of the sea. Scarborough’s shops and restaurants are within 10 minutes’ walk of Rockside. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from both the sandy South Bay Beach and the North Bay Promenade. Parking permits for the streets directly outside the hotel are provided upon arrival. Scarborough Railway Station is 15 minutes’ walk away.

I booked the room with sea view. The view was perfect. The room was clean and quiet. It had everything I needed. The hosts were really nice. Around 15 min walk from the railway station.

We watched a pod of dolphins swimming from the north bay to the south bay as we walked the same way. How does one rate that experience?

The location was ok, near the sea This room was expensive so we were expecting a little bit of luxury, however the room was tiny and the en suite was so small you could hardly fit in there. No toiletries, a tiny tv, not even a bottle of water. For what we paid we felt completely ripped off. It was that poor that we decided not to stay there and booked in the local premier inn which was a thousand times better and cheaper. This trip was meant to be a treat. However, we were let down. When we read the reviews again, many are years old some going back 8 to 13 years, to us this is unacceptable The other issue for us was having to choose the night before what you want for breakfast and the breakfast choices were poor considering the high cost.
