Nice, charming hotel in the colonial style building within the french concession area. Our room was huge even for our family of 4 and the beds very comfortable. The room was very clean and the bathroom had a large bathtub which our small kids have appreciated at the end of the day. Within short walking distance there are many shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. We found the staff not super friendly as we could not get answers to simple questions like where we could do laundry as it is uneconomical to use hotel services to pay per every single piece for a family of 4.

The hotel is in a lively central area, very near a large mall and a metro stop. The metro stop made it easy to visit most of the main attractions in Shanghai. The hotel itself is a splendid building, with marble floors and mahogany paneling in the rooms and along the corridors. The room was great and very well equipped. The staff is very polite and professional and willing to help. The breakfast offers a variety of foods to choose from, both oriental and western. I would gladly stay here again!

It’s a classic, full of that old Shanghai style. It’s a little oasis in the otherwise crowded and bustling glass and steels of modern Shanghai. It’s beautiful in a quiet way from a quieter era. The location could not have been better. Right in the center of the best areas but hidden just a few steps into a deeply treelined street. Rooms are big, bigger than expected in Shanghai where real estate is at a premium. You get history, comfort and convenience all in one place. We’d stay here again in a heart beat We got our morning coffee across the street at Peet’s. If there was an option to get a cup of coffee without the breakfast buffet, it would be a dream. The courtyard in the front is a perfect spot to sit and sip a cup of coffee while watching people going about their lives in the morning rush

Our room was a little walk to the elevator.
-
Location, calmness The smell of smoking in the room
-
The bathroom shower was moldy, it also had a really loud sound as the drains seemed clogged.

Hotel located in a historical amazing building! Staff very professional!

Lovely charming property, unfortunately we were provided a room over the parking area, though I pleaded for a better room, no accommodation, perhaps how they treat 3rd party non Chinese guests. Housekeeping quite poor, never completed cleaning the room or replenishing items.
