Gorgeous little hotel - extremely charming rooms with lots of character, fantastic staff, delicious food, beautiful garden (giant toucans came to feed there every morning) and a gorgeous swimming pool. The manager organised us a Tuktuk and scooters to visit Angkor and the town, all went very smooth and pleasant. We stayed in the house with 4 rooms of which our family of 4 occupied 2 rooms. We were a little worried to bother other hotel guests staying in the same house, given the small & luxurious setting. Our 2 rooms connected through a joint balcony. We would have preferred staying in one of the 2 smaller houses (with 2 bedrooms) for more privacy and to not disturb anyone, but these were not available during our stay. Minor thing though and a very personal feeling; nobody complained or seemed annoyed at all with our quite active kids.

This is a boutique hotel with a small number of bungalows which means it is quiet and you get excellent attention and service by the staff. We joked that sometimes the service seemed like Downton Abbey. Our bungalow was very well appointed. The grounds were beautiful - it is an oasis near the center of Siem Reap.

The property grounds: the garden, the pool, the pergola are amazing and unique. Not often, that you can find such a gem. The price-quality ratio did not feel right. I believe you pay for the nice grounds and for the exclusiveness ( limited number of rooms/ houses). However, for this amount of money per night, we expected more of a luxurious feeling and more service / attentiveness. Overall I think we were just unlucky with our room, with wasn’t for us. It felt a bit dark and not very open (more like the last room in the resort). We asked to change rooms, which was offered to us, but then we would have had to change again for the last night - to avoid the hassle, we stayed in the given room and decided to spent as much time as possible on the balcony. However, that wasn’t really possible as well, as there were so many mosquitos (I believe more than on other balconies due to the dark corner and many plants right next to it). The cleanliness, again given the price, was not what we expected. There were dead mosquitos in the bathroom, and gecko droppings on the balcony ( this is no problem, as you are in nature, however i believe for a resort in this price range it should be cleaned twice a day.) Or balcony on the other hand wasn’t cleaned for at least one day. Massage was good, but no tea offered, which again, is pretty standard in this price range. To top it off, when entering the room there was a pretty steep step - with no warning sign, so on the first night I sprained my ankle, thankfully not too bad but not really what you want during a holiday.

an amazing oasis of peace located near both Siem Reap city centre and Angkor Wat. Beautiful room, with small private patio. Lush garden and perfect pool for the very hot temperatures we had. Good breakfast and meals in general. But key to our stay was the wonderful staff.

We are absolutely in love with this place! And I would recommend it to anyone who travels to Siem Riap - with family or without! The owners are amazing and so is the hotel staff. From the first step you will feel yourself within the family. The service is superb, very attentive and responsive to any demand but you will never feel any classic hotel vibe or formal approach to your needs. The hotel organized tuk-tuk rides to the local shops and markets and it was amazing. The food is great, and I’d personally recommend their red curry. We even did a cooking class with the chef so to know how to cook some of the dishes! The space is stylish but very comfortable at the same time, you can see the true love in any detail. Even vintage bicycles or rattan baby chairs are the part of the whole picture! Many decor pieces are made locally and it gives you a feeling of authentic living. We are family of four - me, my husband and our kids (4 yo and 1 yo). All of us were very comfortable. We asked for babysitting when needed, but actually hotel staff is always attentive to the kids and tries to help anytime. They also have some games, sports inventory and healthy kids menu. If we go to Cambodia again, we definitely know where to stay! Our heart belongs to this place. Thank you for the good memories!

Our experience of Maison Polanka was of such warm and homely hospitality right from the owner to all the staff of the place. We had a wonderful stay and it was just the break we needed. We really enjoyed the scrumptious food, the beautiful Al fresco dine setting and the pool. The owner was also kind enough to give many recommendations which came in really handy while planning the trip. It is a perfect quiet retreat getaway that one would need after the long tours of the temples. It has only a few rooms and so offers a kind of exclusivity.
