Villa Emma was a unique property and was a very enjoyable stay. The owners of the property lives with in the house, and were very attentive. The breakfasts were excellent and were served in their beautiful yard. The landscaping was wonderful informative. The things we liked The character of the inn The outdoor space The quality of the breakfast The comfort of the beds Things to be aware The stairways in the Acacia suite are very steep and may not be suitable for everyone. While there are bicycles available, there is a small charge associated with them. The B&B has a green certification. As part of that certification, the owner will discuss the carbon dioxide footprint that your stay created. They will explain that they have purchased carbon offsets for that purpose. They will also explain that a small voluntary contribution could be given to help offset that costs. A discussion at the beginning of our stay may have made us more aware of the issues related to our carbon footprint.

Host were super friendly and have knowledgeable about the local area. The location is pretty good if you have a vehicle. The best breakfast I have ever had at a bed and breakfast. Not much to complain about. The only issue would be if you do not have a vehicle, public transit to the city can be a little expensive (3 euro each way).

We had a pleasant stay in this beautiful house. The room was clean, recently renovated, and the hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, and free parking is available. The location is convenient — just 15 minutes to the parking area in Ghent or 15 minutes by bike. it’s important to note that the toilet and shower are located on the upper level of the room and can only be accessed via a steep and narrow spiral staircase. This is not clearly stated in the property description and was a significant inconvenience for us. Climbing such stairs in the dark at night to use the bathroom was quite challenging. Future guests should be made aware of this in advance.

This lovely family owned B&B is a perfect hideaway with an amazing garden surrounding this villa. Our host were very kind and the special breakfast was an excellent surprise for Easter :) The area and location is also very lovely. Nothing to mention.

The house is a fabulous late Victorian era (in the UK it would be, I don't know what era that is in Belgium!?!) villa set in beautiful grounds. We had the Acacia room, it was lovely and clean and nicely decorated, with a sitting area with a couple of armchairs and a separate bedroom off this with a spiral staircase up to the ensuite. The double bed was big, (super kingsize I think), and there was a single bed on a mezzanine in the turret above the sitting area which is fun, but a little precarious to climb up, so not suitable for very young kids or elderly people. Georges and Hilda are lovely hosts and the breakfasts were fantastic, homemade bread, apple pie, yoghurt, pastries, cheese, charcuterie, eggs, bacon - we didn't need lunch. Hilda explained the buses, and it was easy to get in to the center of Ghent and back, on the no.10 bus from a nearby bus stop. It was a lovely peaceful location and the garden was beautiful with plenty of wildlife to watch - brown squirrels, ducks and birds. Nothing.

Beautiful home just outside Ghent Easy to get the bus to the city Kind and very helpful hosts - they could not have been more welcoming! Nothing really This is a period property so if you're after modern city living, it's not for you. But we loved it

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Emma. The room was both luxurious and charming at the same time. The bed was very comfortable. There were even board games and puzzles to play. The owners were very accommodating and professional. To cap off the stay, we were provided a sumptuous and delicious breakfast.

Oh my God! Everyone should stay there once to experience pampering by owners. Amazing place. Breakfast out of this world in a way of serving, quality and quantity also. Clean, comfortable, home feeling. On our arrival they explained and show us what to see, do... They are amazing people.

An amazing house and garden. Exceptional owners and brilliant service.

What is not to like about this property? The building itself is historic and absolutely charming. The rooms were spacious and clean and efficient. The bathroom was large and updated upstairs with a soaking tub. There was also a bathroom one floor below with a shower. It was nice to have access to two bathrooms for our party of 3. The breakfast was phenomenal in presentation and quality - like a 3-course meal. But the absolute best thing about this property was the charming hosts. They could not have been more accommodating, more delightful, and more helpful. Great convenient parking as well! Easy drive to fabulous Ghent - one of our favorite stops on this trip! There is nothing not to like about this property. Our rooms were on the third floor but the hosts even helped us carry our luggage upstairs so it was not a drawback at all! The room was a little warm the first night, but the host showed us the controls and we cranked it down and it was fine the second night. These were not draw-backs - only observations. This is a fabulous stay!

  • Engine customer Sep 2024

Very comfortable. A friendly couple of hosts and breakfast was first class. Home made bread every morning with local cheese and meats which were delicious. Everything met our expectations

  • Engine customer Jul 2024

The house and grounds are beautiful, and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful, with many homemade treats and more food than we could eat! It's about a 20-minute walk into the city, and there are some restaurants and places to buy food even closer.
