Green cube hostel

The hostel looks modern at first glance, but unfortunately its maintenance leaves quite a bit to be desired. There are many visible signs of wear and damage that don't seem to be repaired on a regular basis. During my stay, the door to my room was actually broken and wouldn't close properly unless it was lifted up by force because it had dropped on its hinges and no longer aligned with the frame. Inside the room, there was very little storage space, hardly any shelves or hooks and although lockers were provided, none of them had locks or could be secured with a personal padlock. The cleaning was fairly superficial and could definitely be improved. Overall, I wouldn't rely too much on the photos from when the property was new. If you're expecting a modern hostel with European standards, you may be disappointed. That said, it's perfectly adequate for an overnight stop or a short stay while traveling.

Staff was very kind and helpful! Location is good, nearby several major bus stops. Comfortable beds and generally very clean. The lockers in the room were not operating properly. They didn’t have a space to lock and the bins underneath the bed didn’t have a spot to use a padlock to lock one’s belongings. Other than this, solid stay!

Very clean hostel, with good facilities, situated not too far from the centre - about 15- 20 minute walk to Serdica. Only 6 minute walk from central station but this ins't actually in the centre! Shops nearby to buy food and drink and close to other public transport links. Staff were really friendly and helpful and happily stored my luggage for me as they were waiting for new lockers to arrive. TV in kitchen so I was able to watch the World Cup highlights on youtube every morning :). Bed was comfy and private. Only 1 other traveller staying at the same time as me all other residents were Bulgarians who seemed to live there.

The location, not too far from the bus and train station. The female receptionist was kind enough to let me check in early, and place me in an empty room (opposed to being in a room full of only men). So for that, I’m super grateful! I originally wanted to leave a good review because of the kindness I received from the female receptionist, and was willing to close one eye to certain issues in the hostel. But after the treatment I have received from a male receptionist (young twink; possibly named Bobby after looking at the other bad reviews). After asking follow up questions about the luggage storage because GOD FORBID I’m concerned about my expensive belongings, he was giving me weird looks, side eye and a dismissive and disgusting attitude until the end of my stay! The only time when I saw him in a good mood was when he was on his phone! God forbid he needs to do a job he was paid for! Mind you, I was concerned about the luggage as the lockers in rooms were NON EXISTENT and there were shady alcoholic men hanging around the hostel. I also witnessed some type of argument between the receptionist and a Bulgarian guest, and after checking the bad reviews; it seems that’s an ongoing theme. It’s honestly a shame as this place has a HUGE potential. Shame on you Bobby (or whatever your name is). I bet you won’t have the guts to show that type of attitude towards masculine men, as you’d get slapped!

A little bit pricey for a hostel, but its the city price. The reception guy was very polite. The location is "ok". The bathroom curtains and the room lockers shown in the photos simply don’t exist. People can see you while you’re showering, and you have to leave your valuables at reception every time you go out.

Clean facilities and friendly staffs! Friendly for solo traveler walking from the bus station at night is a bit dark.

Reasonable walking distance from train/bus stations, okay value, close to Lidl grocery store, kitchen for fixing meals, curtains on beds, all day transit with tap to pay capped at $2.60 per day great for getting around to see the sights, lots of post soviet brutalist architecture and murals Snoring Bulgarians, located in a shabby neighborhood, although the relaxed vibe of Sofia in its transition from post soviet days starts to grow on you

Nice location near the train station and trams outside, great if you need to near transportation like arriving in the morning/late evening. Nice terrace - only thing good about the facility Some people have been staying there for a long time, there's even kids staying playing in the hallway, not a hostel made only for travelers. So keep this in mind. Met some guest who are staying for months in the accommodation looking for job or working in Sofia. Also, i booked the girls only dormitory but because it became full - men are accommodated in our dorm. Worse hotel. Washroom is very dirty and clogged.

Only the beds and the prices are enough to choose to stay there. Liked · Feeling very private in the bed. 2 kitchens always open, good electronic keys, location easy to find from the train station. The door of the room wasn't working properly. There are lockers with keys, but it seems we can only get a key if we specifically ask for one. Food is not secure in the kitchen or the fridge, I mean no labels. There are huge TVs in the kitchens, but no basic instructions on how to use them. Some staff members appear to take food left in the kitchen, as if anything left there is considered free. Between the two side‑by‑side showers, there is a 15‑cm gap (near the doors) allowing to look the other person if desired only.

From outside it looks wonderful, the entrance looks also nice. The guy I met when I did the check in who was after the midnight was super nice and proactive. The room takes only 4 which also nice. The kitchen is big. They provide a towel. The internet is super fast. My locker was looked and I did not get any key, I went to ask the woman in the reception, she can barely speak English, she tried actually to help as she went with me to the room to see, she saw the locker closed so she said she cannot do anything!!!! I said maybe then you can change my room, she said "no room change". The room is super hot, the AC was turned on, it would have been nice if the remote of the AC was in the room. The location is not the best actually, but also not bad. The shower room and the toilet itself was not clean enough.

The top bunk is a little difficult and scary to get into and out of . The housekeepers did a nice job of cleaning in the morning but by afternoon the washrooms and showers were very dirty and were not cleaned again until the next day . The lockers in the room were broken so no secure places to store your things . Laundry is 5 euro but the dryer is terrible - takes three hours or more to try your clothes

- kind and helpful stuff - they have common areas where it is possible to hang out or work - quiet hostel - it felt quite safe coming back at night - close to the main station - curtains for privacy - new-ish vibe - Iast night of my stay, I came back to my room and saw my bed had been cleaned and my belongings disappeared. I was able to sort it out with the night receptionist and get everything back, probably an administration error - the bathroom could be cleaner - it is not a capsule hostel you might know from Japan, since beds in my room had horizontal entrance and not vertical one, so it was basically like a regular hostel with curtains - the socket near my bed didn't always work properly

Almost everything for the price, the beds have cortins, the AC was on all Day, The only minor thing in my opinión, no lockers
