Kniaz Boris Hotel

Singlehandedly the best money for the buck you can find in all central Sofia . One metro station away from the very top center of the city in the south and one metro station away from the main bus and train stations at the north . The showerhead should be upgraded to a more flexible one . Several burnt-out lightbulbs need replacing . There's no fridge in the room . There is no elevator , so using the stairs is required . You are required to leave the keys at the reception , each time you leave the hotel for anything .

The location is nice for transportation: Metro, buses, tramway, and taxis are accessible. I reviewed my booking for 1 person and extension until 31 May, they accepted the extension, but they kept the booking for 2 persons. I was disappointed to pay for two people when I was alone. Also, they don't have a car for transfer from the airport, no breakfast is offered, and you have to make your own arrangements to get food.

Close to main bus station, Lidl and centre is some 10 / 15 minutes of walk. It seems clean. Very basic. Just bed and cupboard. Sound from other rooms can be easily heard - even snoring from someone. I think it is expensive for what they offer.

Centrally location, close to the centre and to the main railway and bus station. My room and bathroom were a bit narrow, but both was clean, and tidy. Affordable prices. Bit noisy surrounding, little room, for two people it would be very small and uncomfortable.

I'm short sighted and when coming down the stairs the steps weren't easily outlines and I nearly tripped

The personel was nice, also the location was good. Room was very cold due to spare space in windows, it should be renovated. Poor bathroom facility with old equipment. Also the key policy was weird, you needed to leave keys everytime when leaving the hotel. Deposit for keys would be useful in this case or electronic system for the doors. The hotel was looking better outside than inside. Also towels were disposed but had this smell of the old towel.

The hotel is situated close to a main road, which can make it noisy.

Good location, nice place

The host is very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Beds were comfy and the location is super! Very close to many public transport stops, incl the metro. The price for a night is also very acceptable. There's also a bar below, where man can have a drink before bed and COFFEE in the morning / for the ones, like me, that need it straight away/

“I had a terrible experience because the room had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. The furniture, the bed linen, everything smelled heavily of cigarettes. I told the staff that I wanted to change rooms since I’m not a smoker, and it was very uncomfortable. The staff member told me that all the rooms had the same smell and didn’t care to help me at all. Additionally, I received a message stating that I should pay in cash, either in euros or the local currency. I brought the amount in euros, but they didn’t have change, so I had to leave and exchange the money. When I came back, they told me they didn’t accept euros, only the local currency, even though it was written in the message they sent me that euros were accepted. They tried to waste my time making me exchange money. It was a horrible experience. Also, I’ve traveled to almost 40 countries, and this is the first time I’ve ever made a complaint on Booking, as I’ve never received such poor treatment before.”

Exceptional

The receptionist was waiting for as she knew I was coming late. Very close to metro Lavov Most, close to central bus and train stations. Convenient for a sleep over and departure in the morning. It was also quiet so I managed to sleep well. My room was apparently for smokers, there was a lingering smell of cigarettes. It was extremely bad, I opened the window and slept well. Check before you book of you are jlnon-smoker like me.

Everything was fine, like the location fairly central Nothing to dislike

Fair enough for the price and to get a good night sleep. Good central location.
