I will start by saying that I rarely give a place a 10... most places I stay are great, but a stay has to be something special to get a 10.... and this hotel has it all. If you are looking for a rest from touring northern spain, or just looking for a rejuvenating get away because you live here, look no further. Why does it stand out? The staff...all of them... reception desk, restaurant servers, spa were professional, caring, friendly, and worked so so hard to make the guests stay comfortable. It was just heaven for this weary traveler on day 22 of her trip.... Nothing to dislike.... it was all fantastic... I suppose the only thing to note is a reminder that you coming to Solares for the spa... . the town itself is just a normal midsize European town in the industrial north

Although pet friendly, they don't accommodate for them terribly well. They had the space in there terrace to separate the dog folks but relegated us and another couple to the outside terrace. The other couple put their dog in their car and moved indoors.

I loved the spa it was relaxing and beautiful! Breakfast was also very good with a nice variety of options. Two thing I can mention is that in the lobby they use a perfume that smells nice at first, but it’s a bit too strong. After a few minutes, the fragrance becomes overwhelming and makes me not want to stay there for long. The other thing was that I was a bit disappointed because the AC in the bedroom was turned off. I had to call the front desk three different times to ask them to turn it on. They eventually did, but it was frustrating to have to keep calling each time.

Nice and clean. Secure car parking. Large rooms well equipped. The spa looks great but is expensive to use. Plus they make you wear silly swim hats. They advertise being dog friendly but they aren’t really. They don’t want you to leave your dogs in the room but they make no provision for you to eat in the restaurant. They have lots of space and could do easily. Reception staff are not very good. Not interested in helping you with luggage or showing you to your room even though there was three of them with nothing to do. Made you almost feel like an inconvenience.

The thermal area is fantastic, it's worth going to the hotel just for it. For breakfast there are mostly snacks, to order something hot, you need staff. There are few staff, so it is very inconvenient

The room was a good size, clean and comfy. The 'Spa' that you can upgrade to is actually just a swimming pool with a couple of jets in it and a dated one at that. If you want any real spa treatments they're all of course extra as is everything in this place... The location is not nice, didn't feel particularly safe walking around outside of the hotel complex. due to this we ended up paying extra to ensure the cars were secure in their small underground car park. From the moment you arrive everything is extra cost, the whole vibe from the hotel was they were penny pinching... outdated décor but charged extra for basics like a bread roll with your dinner even though they served them to us without asking. The photos on the website are accurate however they're very selective with angles and backgrounds....
