Grand Hotel President

The view was spectacular from our room and the hotel in general. Giuseppe was awesome and our favorite team member at the hotel! He helped books excursions for us and answered a lot of questions. The hotel was dated and needs some work. It gave old seminary vibes. We were charged for every little thing (no robes to use during stay unless you paid 10€, no iron in room, water, etc). The mosquitoes were so bad we couldn’t enjoy the balcony much. The vegetation is so overgrown it’s a problem. The pool needed updating and the breakfast was probably the worst part of our stay. Honestly it was inedible. Even the coffee was terrible! The hotel has a lovely view and that is the only reason we decided to stay after the first night. The shuttle service was helpful to get up and down the hill, but the earliest if starts is 8:30 and it only comes every hour, not 30 minutes as we had thought. Makes it difficult to plan for unless you are fine paying 35-50€ to a taxi to simply take you up the hill. Overall, this place could be really amazing if they invested some money into upgrading, improved their customer service (most team members made it feel like we were not welcome or wanted there) and if they completely changed their breakfast. Oh, I almost forgot the gym. It was a tiny room with three machines, no weights at all, one sweaty mat in the corner and NO AC, so it was unbearable to even be in. No workout for me and that is NOT a gym. And finally, the pool closes at 7, so don’t plan for a late swim in the heat, or a jacuzzi for your sore bones after walking all day, because that was also non-existent. I saw a jacuzzi on the grass area from our balcony that looked like it hadn’t been used in over a decade, likely attracting mosquitoes. It was very disappointing how unkept the property was for being in a prime travel destination in Italy with a spectacular view.

I would like to thanks for the concierge that gave a good service waited for us for our arrival at late midnigh,moved our things to other Room,and the kitchen staff prepared for our breakfast to go,and the receptionist was very good service assisting us our needs!?❤️

Our stay at the Grand Hotel President was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, making every sunrise and sunset unforgettable. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and featured a beautiful balcony where we could relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh pastries, fruit, local specialties, and made-to-order coffee. The complimentary shuttle service into the center of Sorrento was extremely convenient and made exploring the town easy without worrying about parking. The pool and outdoor terrace were perfect places to unwind after a day of sightseeing along the Amalfi Coast, Capri, or Pompeii. The peaceful setting away from the crowds, combined with the spectacular views, created the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel President to anyone visiting Sorrento. We would absolutely stay here again. Amazing views. Very clean impeccable service - very spacious restaurants, lobby, public areas. Incredible breakfast with full buffet, omelette station, and Prosecco station Wish they had one option for a low- or medium-price restaurant for dinner- serving pizza, focaccias or similar. Being a 15-20 minute ride from town would be nice to have a couple options for dinner at the resort rather than just one

It was a beautiful property with an amazing view! The staff were incredibly helpful and always went above and beyond whenever we needed assistance. They truly made our stay even more enjoyable.

Very family friendly, clean and beautiful. The staff was so friendly and we felt so comfortable. The dinner and breakfast at the hotel were wonderful.

The view from the hotel is gorgeous — I could have sat on the veranda or pool deck all day! The staff were professional, polite, attentive, and welcoming. The food was very good. We enjoyed both breakfasts and a couple of dinners there. The beds were relatively comfortable and the other facilities were very good. The room felt a bit cramped for four people (2 adults and 2 teens), though we managed okay. A cab ride from the hotel to the main square in Sorrento costs between $35–$50 one way when the shuttle bus isn’t running (there’s no walking option). As we discovered, this seems to be about average and often depends on the “tourist tax” the driver applies.

Great view from the balcony. Pool was wonderful and view from pool deck was amazing! Breakfast was very good. It was a 15 minute drive to center of Sorrento but the provided shuttle bus worked well. No real walkable restaurants. The town piazza was a 5 minute walk from shuttle drop off, though.

Incredible location high on the hill overlooking the town of Sorrento. Wonderful meals, great spa, convenient booking for nearby tours. Hourly transportation to town was an added bonus.

View and cleanliness. Free breakfast was wonderful. Booked transportation through hotel that staff booked and they did not allow enough time to get to location and we missed the train and had to pay an extra $100. Staff needs to consider traffic when booking.

Loved the view from the dinning area, we had a little balcony and it was perfect (didn’t have a view but that was fine). Included breakfast which was really nice and loved that there was a free shuttle into the city center Some staff members were not the friendliest but overall the rest of the staff was great and welcoming
