I booked a Holiday Inn last Oct., didn’t know it changed hands. Room was not as expected, no maid service for our stay. Slightly disappointed.

Got locked out of our room at midnight had to wait an hour to get let in!

Very good walkable location if you’re visiting the Heavenly Village shops, restaurants and the mountain gondola. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard but a bit less than hotels like Hampton Inn offer. Rooms are somewhat dated but still nice and comfortable. And here’s an interesting situation: a wild bear wondered through the parking lot one evening and got into several hotel garbage cans. Staff was out in the morning to clean up but several of us hotel guest felt that management should be more proactive about installing bear-proof trash cans to prevent this from happening again. This is, after all, bear country. Ultimately bears usually end up getting shot in these kind of situations and if management would act now perhaps this bear will live long and prosper.

I loved this place!! The room was huge and so clean. The staff was so friendly. I love how quiet it was at night.

Whoever took the pictures needs to work for movies! Upon arrival, it wasn't what it was made to appear in the pics. Important: This is a renovated motel, so plan your expectations accordingly: your room door opens to the public. The facilities, amenities, and staff are all adequate, and no more. The level of cleanliness might be slightly above adequate; as they do their part to keep the pool / hot tub clean, and the bed is actually quite nice. Other than that, there's nothing special about this place besides the location. It is a short 5 min walk to Heavenly Plaza where the Goldola lifts to the top. Nice surprise was the great magic show at The Loft; worth the $50 ticket. Can't really 'walk' to the Lake; although there's 'access' nearby, it's not really a place you can picnic or lounge comfortably. But, it's a quick drive to the god beaches and water sports.

Cons: Bear on property going through the trash every day multiple times. Hotel staff did not mention that even at the time of check in. Bear spreads trash near the entrances to the buildings. Room keys never worked at the first try. One of my friends even got locked out at night and nobody was at the desk or on the call to help. It took them an hour to get back. Limited first come first parking. Tiny breakfast room gets crowded pretty soon.

Great breakfast options that were included with the booking. Maybe a bigger variety of beverages to drink with breakfast would be better. Not just milk and coffee. The orange juice machine wasn't working which was fine, but maybe some water boxed apple juices and orange juices and teas to replace the missing option. The room was nice. Dark but nice. The bathroom was great. Well stocked with toiletries. The room had a bad smell to it, which could have been because of the carpet and the fabric chair. The sheets and towels had hair from the previous guests. They were clean but had a few strands of hair that could have been stuck from the washing. Only 2 towels of each size. Maybe 4 towels would be a better option if there's no housekeeping included in the booking. Trash cans next to the rooms should be cement or caged down due to the bears tipping them over looking for food, and there was trash all over the walkway to get to my room. Very dim parking lot. Really dark. More lights for guest safety.

Room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of counter space for everyone’s toiletries. Nice location close to everything but tucked further in away from the main street so it wasn’t noisy. We saw a bear maybe 20 feet away one night rummaging through the trashcans outside by the stairs leading up to the rooms, which was a highlight for us on our trip but probably a negative for others. Breakfast wasn’t included with our booking and would have cost an additional $20 per person. As exciting as it was to see a bear up close, the trashcans outside should probably be bear-proof ones for everyone’s safety, including the bears.

The location. I stay for two nights and They give me a very small room and they did not clean the room or even provide clean towels or toilet paper also another friends that stay in different room they had a bigger room and we paid same price. I expect to see more food for breakfast, it was very limite.

Great room, great staff, especially Amanda in the breakfast space, seriously the only real complaint we had was, of all things, the toilet paper. It was the thinnest, and literally fell apart in pieces, we've ever experienced, and we're seasoned travelers. So, be prepared to maybe bring your own, but everything else was GREAT!

Not to far not too close. Great place to stay..classic with a modern twist. I like that there is a store right across the street and a 7/11 really close.
