The room we initially got felt very crammed, was dark and smelt bad but we spoke to reception and said it wasn’t quite like the photos and they explained that due to the shape of the building, some of the rooms of the type we booked are different to others. They very kindly let us change rooms the following day once they had another available which made a HUGE difference for our stay. The room we were moved to was what we expected to be in when we booked and was very nice - but the pillows were still way too tall and the room definitely needed some more detailed cleaning eg on the window sills but the main areas were clean. Even when we were in the room we didn’t like, the staff were so kind and helpful from the moment we checked in. We are so glad we were able to change rooms as we really enjoyed the room we moved to and our last 2 nights in Melbourne. Thanks so much to the lovely staff. There is an incredible cafe called Mr Summit next door that does $10 coffee and toastie deal. Overall, staff were great but rooms a 7.5/10 if based on the nicer room we were in. Needed some more detail cleaning. Pillows are way too high and don’t squish down flat enough. Apart from that, it was good (based on the room we moved to)
