We wish we could have stayed here longer. The location is ideal, being just a short walk to Diocletian’s Palace and Green Market. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, but most importantly, the staff is exceptional. We arrived during a torrential downpour, and two staff met us at the parking area with umbrellas to escort us by van directly to the property. Tony knew we had a short time available to explore, so he showed us on a map the most important places to visit and gave us a short and excellent history lesson. The staff and service were great, and we highly recommended Makarun. Nothing.

The location was 10/10! This is not a standard “hotel” but an exquisite experience! They assigned us with our host Toni, who contacted us pre-arrival, and was such a great person! He helped us with the languages from the parking to the hotel. They treated us with lunch and local wine, and Toni helped us plan our visit to gain maximum fun! The room was super clean, spacious and comfy, had AC and many treats in every corner. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant Makarun and had The Most Delicious dinner we had in Croatia!!!!!!! ?? Overall 100000/10 experience, will be definitely be back and will recommend our families to stay there for sure!!!

Incredibly well looked after by Tony, the concierge. Lovely room, including very good a/c. All the staff are really helpful. Wonderful seafood dinner in the very sought after restaurant.

5-room, family-owned hotel that is run exceedingly well. Communication excellent. The welcome to the property was, honestly, the best I've ever experienced--we were met outside the walls and escorted to the property (which would be difficult to find initially without help), given a welcome antipasto platter and drinks (great Spritz!), and then given recommendations about what to see and do. Rooms are up stairs but we were helped with luggage. Modern and well-appointed room. Excellent location--convenient to everything. Cannot say enough good things about the property and the people. The property was in a beautiful location . The accommodations were awesome. I have stayed in many places and this was by far one of the best places. Staff was extremely friendly. They had a personal reception for us with drinks and a charcuterie board. Our hostess sat with us and explained the history of Croatia along with providing us with a map and pointed out all of the locations of interest. Everything was so warm and welcoming. You could not ask for a better experience. On a scale of 1 to 10, that you could only rate it a 10 and not higher.

The staff of Makarun are truly the nicest people you will ever encounter. Their kindness is only exceeded by the fact that they bend over backward for you in all your needs.

The staff is top notch! We were made to feel so welcome and they were very communicative with all questions and requests. Toma helped us with everything from meeting us at the parking lot, to carrying our luggage, to recommendations for the area. His love of Split made our time there so enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The complementary wine and cheese plate at check in was a lovely touch after a long drive. We also received a complementary bottle of wine and tastings of local gin. Breakfast was delicious and generous! I cannot recommend this place enough!! Our only regret is that we didn’t eat dinner there, but that gives us another reason to come back! Nothing!

Extremely helpful and friendly staff who would go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Also, the location is very nice with access to the Split Main Promenade and Ferries at 2 minutes. Big thanks to Tony, Ivan and Mario for taking such good care of us. Everybody was warm, helpful and accommodating. They welcomed me to the hotel with a drink and cheese and prosciutto board! Breakfast was an indulgent 4 course affair. Loved the homemade preserves and breads. In the center of old town within a few minutes walk of attractions and restaurants. Highest recommendation!

The hospitality was out of this world. From the communication prior to arrival, the informative walk from the parking spot, the welcome drinks and food, and to top it all off the 3 course breakfast were all outstanding. My family was treated like family and welcomed at every moment. Do not hesitate to stay here - you will enjoy every minute and every detail. We will stay here again any time we are in Split.

Great location in the historic center of Split. Staff helped us with luggage and were helpful in other ways. Rooms were comfortable. Restaurant one of the best during our 8 days in Croatia. Lamb ? Stairs would be difficult for people with limited mobility.

Quick walk to bus station and the ports. The staffs are super sweet and helpful. Breakfast is great. We went to the restaurant to try their desserts and they were delicious! Highly tecommend! Slight noise up due to location above a restaurant. But it quiets down once restaurant's closed.

The hotel's location is fantastic—tucked just off the main street lined with restaurants and right beside the Diocletian Palace. Everything you need is within a few minutes’ walk, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The room was impeccably clean—absolutely spotless—and offered a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of freshly prepared options served hot upon arrival, ensuring both quality and freshness. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended and will undoubtedly be our top choice for our next visit to Split. Nothing
