The old furniture, very comfortable, great location The ac made a noise every hour which disturbed our sleep. upgraded to a king room with sea view but the room was very small for the price paid.

Rusacks is very well located next to The Old Course and a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The West Sands beach is a similar distance in the opposite direction. The building has a lot of character and is very well appointed with a lot of character both in the original part and more recent restaurant additions. Our two rooms were very different, one being fairly small and dark, the other, a corner room, a lot larger and brighter, overlooking the street at the front. Although this second one was a free upgrade. Really comfortable beds in both though. We dined in two restaurants in the hotel and the food was excellent in both cases, with the rooftop 18 Restaurant being particularly memorable for the excellent tomahawk steak and sorbets. Breakfast was excellent too, with a wider than usual choice on the menu, and was served at the table rather than being a buffet. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Lauren and Kelsey being the two names we did get, but all were exceptional and clearly tried hard to deliver service appropriate to the surroundings and overall quality. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and was able to dine with us in one part of the hotel, which was a great bonus. Lastly, free parking was easy to find on the street behind the hotel. The lift was very slow to appear, the stairs were usually quicker. We would have preferred a choice of biscuits and/or shortbread rather than the Tunnocks Tea cakes supplied on the hospitality tray. But that's about it.

Excellent position. Very good staff. Extremely comfortable hotel. We think room service should go on later than 10pm. We had arranged pizzas from the Bridge for 9pm but were delayed on the Old Course and were told the kitchen closed at 9. As it happened we got in just before 10pm and managed to get a pizza before room service closed for the night
