Seven Gables, St. Louis West, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Our room had hair on the bathroom floor. The return air vent was filthy. The coffee pot did not work. When the door opened it hit the bed. Not enough towels.

I always stay at the Seven Gables Inn while visiting St. Louis - fantastic, walkable neighborhood, for central STL, including vintage shopping & dining options. The boutique hotel is very ‘Old St. Louis’ with extremely modern, comfortable, quiet and safe rooms.

Certainly a different kind of experience. Location was convenient, but getting luggage to and from car was a bit challenging. Outdoor garden area was relaxing when the music wasn't blaring. Coffee and water in the lounge was lovely. Very interesting toilet!!! It was definitely easy to hear the folks in rooms above us walking around. The combination closet, refrigerator and coffee service was unusual to say the least.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were not the greatest we have ever seen. Which is not to say they were not good. The most enjoyable part of the room was the very nice, large shower, how dark the room was at night, and how exceptionally quiet it was. A concern we usually have with hotels is the noise from the hallways, adjacent rooms, or the environment outside. This room (3rd floor) satisfied all of those concerns. Plus, the hotel is not directly in the heart of downtown Clayton, which was a plus for us. Still, everything we wished to see was a brief walk away.

It’s always a pleasure to stay at Seven Gables. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is lots to do in the area.

Great boutique hotel, bar and dining. Perfect location to explore Clayton, with many restaurants and a grocery nearby. I’ll book again the next time I’m in town.

Given the age of the Inn room had issues. No closet, no bureau just an open cabinet w shelves! Couldn't regulate room temp, bathroom was beautiful but freezing (Feb) because of the old windows...room went from too hot to freezing....and no blanket for bed

at the hotel we were advised that the system was down and although the hotel receipt reflected that we had prepaid in full we would be unable to check in. No other accommodations were offered.

Clayton is losing its character. Starting to become a corporate wasteland.

Very good quality and layout of our room. Nice size. Bathroom spacious and high sink!
