Location Musty smell when on bed

The front desk staff and the staff for breakfast and at the Pickled Pig were all fantastic! Friendly, accommodating, and efficient. The food was also excellent for our breakfasts and dinner. Our room was huge, the shower perfect and the bed comfortable. It had a nice seating area. Also, the Lighting was good. Location was great too. Right in the middle of St Peter Port albeit a fairly steep climb from the port. We were very lucky that our stay, in the beginning of June, was cool, breezy, and mostly cloudy. We enjoyed nice cross breezes from our windows. Had we arrived a week earlier or later in the month, we would have been very unhappy not to have A/C in the room. Especially since we were on the top floor. There is also no lift on the property, so the 40-steps climb up and down to and from our room was challenging at times. They did kindly offer to assist with our luggage at check in and check out.

Nice hotel Room and bathroom were a bit too small
-
Courtyard and the staff On a hill.
-
Walk up the hill from the seafront. Otherwise, no complaints.

Location is perfect for getting into town Car park is a bit tricky to park in
-
Great location for exploring Guersney on foot, the buses and ferries all just a short walk away. Great on site restaurant and nice outdoor courtyard patio. Some cigarette smoke from other guests smoking on the patio.

Location and value for money. Nothing

It was in a very convenient location, with friendly staff, a decent choice of breakfast items. It was also clean and tidy combined with friendly staff. My room was a massive surprise. I didn’t realise at the time of booking that the room was so small. It is the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Also the view from the window looked into a courtyard that was just littered with ‘junk’, which was a bit unsightly.

The Duke of Normandie is perfectly situated in the heart of St Peter Port. the rooms are pleasant but the hotel's standout feature is the Bar and restaurant. It's comfortable, it's friendly, it's well-stocked and the food - whether you're just having breakfast or going the whole hog with an evening meal is excellent. The residential part of the hotel was in the throes of being decorated, which made it less homely and a little noisier than I've experienced on previous visits - but I suppose that's the downside of visiting a place like Guernsey during the winter season.

Location and restaurant VERY SMALL room. Shower was smaller than cruise ship cabin showers. VERY small sink too. Water in sink and shower did not drain fast enough.

Thought the breakfast was okay, coffee wasn't good, just overall was my only drawback.

Great room, lovely welcoming staff

I liked having a full kitchen in my unit, the bed was very comfortable. I have allergies and alerted staff in advance. They had to change out the fry pan in the room and rusty peeler and replaced it so I could avoid cross contamination. I got the pan and peeler the 2nd day of my 6-night stay. The unit had a good heater and Zippy in the office was very helpful and a woman who replaced the kitchen items. The location is great to transit center 10 mins, coffee shops and restaurants. I couldn’t work out how to use the oven nor could multiple staff who tried. I requested instructions so the oven was at 160 degrees and you had to bake your item longer if it needs a higher temp. The unit I requested was advertised as ground level but was given had steps up to living space and the toilet was in downstairs next to the bedroom that was another set of steps. I can walk the steps but was surprised. Carpets to both stairways were very dirty. I emailed the manager with photos and my experience, but never heard back. I couldn’t get anyone to tell me what they could provide for a gluten free and dairy free breakfast I paid for, included in the price.
