Hotel Astoria am Urachplatz

Beautiful downstairs room. Adobe style apartment. Very quiet. Perfect place to regenerate.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was rather hot and stuffy in the room (I was staying there during a heatwave). There was a fan, but it didn't help much.

The view and terrace was wonderful Location

The location was perfectly fine. The staff were amazing, especially the reception was incredibly kind and helpful. There was a construction going on when I was staying. The construction is completely understandable yet they were working at 7 am in the morning and people were literally walking right next to my window looking inside and playing radio while working. This was extremely unexpected and I wasn’t aware would be the case when I was booking the room.

It was very difficult to check-in after 10 pm. There was no parking available for our car. We have to park on the street and wake up very early to pay for parking. We were on the last floor and it was very hot in the room. I have been bitten by some bug all over my arms. All water from the shower was going on the floor and it was very slippery in the bathroom.

The room was clean and the room easy to find with the instructions from the staff. I didn't take the breakfast but there is a store right by the hotel with convenient hours. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom is big enough. My room was located below the level of the street so natural light had difficulty to come into the room. but it is enough if you stay one night. Be careful, this hotel is located into the low emission zone of Stuttgart, so it is not suitable for old diesels.

A little far to the train station but there is a bus stop a few meters away.

- The breakfast was good (nice selection of tea, coffee, drinks, warm foods); - Very close to a Penny Market; - The heating system in the room made it cozy and nice; - The cleaning staff was great; - The elevator taking you to the room (especially in the other building from the one with the reception) had no lights, so at night it was pitch dark; - I could hear my neighbours at night and also the windows are not properly insulated ( I could hear at 5 or 6 a.m. the workers from Penny market making very noisy moving sounds that really woke me up); - TV was very nice, but you have to connect your own accounts for Youtube, Netflix which I am not exactly willing to do;

The room was much bigger than I expected, very clean and neat. The location is great, very close to the city centre and especially to the main train station, which made traveling with luggage much easier. The hosts were always helpful and positive. We asked for a few extra things, e.g. a kettle and everything was provided free of charge without any problem. Overall, everything was perfect: a lovely room, a clean bathroom and a large balcony:)) During our first stay, we were on the 3rd floor and the Wi-Fi connection was weaker compared to the 1st floor, where we stayed on our second visit. Also, since we arrived late at night, the reception was closed and we needed to call the provided number. Unfortunately, none of us could make the call because we had foreign SIM cards, but thankfully a local person helped us. This is not really the hotel’s fault, but it might be helpful to have the number available on WhatsApp so that international guests can contact the hotel more easily using the internet.

Size of the room was great , clean .. not too much noise .. easy to find ! Easy parking ! Definitely worth it ! We had 4 people and only 3 pillows & 3 blankets :/ luckily I had a blanket for my child to use ! && homeless people were loud outside until very late into the evening !

Very good location, and behind is penny market and it was cheap to book for weekend. Got the 2 single bed room for weekend motorcycle fair(you can see it in 2. Picture in otel gallery) and came late from another country, was exhosted, my partner missed the flight so i just wanted to sleep... Reception was great, checked in, but we r nonsmokers and the rooms has do not smoke icons but the room was like a 100 year old pub that is smoked alot... Had my contact lens on, put it out and they started to burn, was angry but just wanted to sleep... Very early i went out, told a staff its very bad smelly and dirty chair, when i am back i want the room smell fresher, but again came late 22:00 and tired from motorcycle fair all day, came in and huge nicotine smell... Dont be wrong, the bed sheets, towels etc was clean but the chair is very dirty and its an old room with old furniture so the wood is old and bathroom is not the shiny star but you would say ok for that price i booked i oversee them but the smell.. impossible... İ am now at home, gf says how much time did you spent your time at the pub, all my stuff in bag and jacket etc smell full nicotine... İ am just happy that i had good drink at motorcycle party so i could tolerate it but if my girlfriend was with me, would definitally change the room, or go to another place... İ never have bad reviews and i travel alot, but this one was not ok. Maybe as a solo traveler and smoker would be ok with it but with partner to have a good weekend it would be a crisis for us .D Bed was comfortable and clean, tv had a few channel(unfortunatelly no music channel had signal or radio) and floor was not clean, socks became dirty. To understand, the hotel is old and furniture is also old so dust and some smell will be there for sure.. but although the door and window was open all day, smell was the same(like pub) so i guess the woods and bed and curtain just sucked it alot over time..

The check in process is very very complex if you check in after 21:00. The instructions are complicated.
