79 Beach Club and Resort Samui

While the rooms are undeniably comfortable and the on-site pizza place is excellent, our three-week stay was overshadowed by a very unwelcoming atmosphere. The biggest issue was the "security" culture. Every single time we entered the premises, we were aggressively intercepted by staff demanding to know if we had purchased a bracelet. Even after staying there for weeks, they never recognized us, making us feel like we were constantly being caught trying to "sneak in." Furthermore, the restrictions were absurd for a long-term stay. We were prohibited from bringing outside snacks or an iced coffee to our room. On one occasion, we were actually told to finish a packet of chips outside before being allowed to go up to our own room. As paying guests, being told we can't bring a simple snack to our private space was incredibly frustrating. Hidden Pool Costs: Despite the booking stating that facilities were included, we were told the round sunbeds cost 1,000 Baht per person. Because of this, we only used the pool once during our entire 21-day stay. The bathroom drain was badly clogged, which made showering a daily struggle.

Breakfast was pleasant, staff were pretty friendly. The 79 Luxury Room with Pool was incredible and such an enjoyable stay. We will absolutely be back.

The resort sits on one of the main roads, the rooms in the front of the hotel get alot of traffic noise. The rooms in the back will get club music from 11am - 11pm. We noticed that the music was louder on Friday thru the weekend and a bit mellow again on Monday. So if you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy your vacation, you will have to go somewhere else. Club 79 Beach Resort is geared towards the younger party crowd, but is on a newer path with the introduction of children's activities on Sunday. Given just these negatives, I would stay here again.

Proximity to all the city, good vibes, good food, amazing 10/10 none

What a fun place to stay! It's a vibey hotel with a beach club right on your doorstep. I loved that they offered discounted rates for beach beds if you stayed at the hotel! The pool room was amazing with epic views! But be warned you will be subjected to the beach club music which you can hear from your room. The shower head was really stained and didn't have good water pressure. It also didn't really have hot water. It came and went. It's also quite pricey!

Music to loud, could not excape it. We had to yell to comunicare at the front desk. We did'nt know it was a real club when we booked.

Friendly staff cozy rooms

The location is good, great sunsets, the design of the hotel and the features are really good. It’s also very close to the high speed boat to Koh Pangan and not far from the night market etc. although traffic on a Friday is quite intense. The Staff and Overall Experience From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt off. There was no warm welcome or typical hotel hospitality—perhaps because it operates more like a beach club than a proper hotel. The front desk manager (name unclear, possibly Boat, as the name tag changed daily) was curt and unwelcoming. We were immediately handed a long list of rules and told we had to pay a 3,000 baht deposit in cash. When we asked if we could pay by card—like any normal hotel—we were told card was an option, but refunds would take up to a month. So, bring cash. Then came the charges: fees for sunbeds, strict breakfast limits (one coffee and one juice per person—anything extra costs more), and constant upselling. Staff hovered around pushing for drink orders or sunbed rentals. Sit on the “wrong” sunbed, and someone will swoop in demanding 1,000 baht. It felt more like a money-making machine than a relaxing stay. My advice: decide what you want to be. Either run a hotel or run a beach club—but don’t treat paying hotel guests like partygoers passing through.

Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and close to the airport Although the music in the hotel is not heard in the room, the hotel is surrounded by many pubs and bars so it’s quite noisy especially at night when they are partying till midnight!

The room was modern, new and clean, they do made the guest comfort. Overall , I had the positive experience and would choose to stay here again. Thanks to 79 team for making my stay enjoyable.

Lovely new rooms, with an incredible view! Breakfast was the best we had in Thailand, the staff were extremely helpful also. We nearly didn’t book due to 1 review as being so new… so glad we did now! Thanks to all The team at 79 beach club.
