The beds were pristine and very comfortable. The separate shower and toilet added to the excellent design of the room. The breakfast was superb! The pool was so much fun!

The location was great and the bed was comfortable. I'm not a fan of glass bathrooms so I appreciated the curtain around the tub. The location was close to the main Tainan station and there are many shops nearby. There are some small details that could be improved. It would be nice to have one actual chair in the room. Checking in was a little awkward; the concierge directed me to the computer check in station, which was ok once I set it to English, but then it didn't include the Wifi password on the receipt, nor was it written down in the room. I called down and asked but the desk agent got confused about the numbers in English so I ended up going down in person with pen and paper to get the password. Also, there was a lot of perfume in the lobby and I found it off-putting. Grand Banyan Hotel had a strange vibe of aspiring to 4 or 5 star service but then not actually anticipating guests' needs.

Buffet breakfast was delicious and offered a wide range of exciting flavors! Rooftop pool and patio was a great place to cool off and play mahjong.

Staff at reception not fluent in English and giving contradictory information. Pool is really shallow. Useless.

Unfortunately, the annual pool maintenance fell exactly on our stay, which was very unfortunate since the pool was one of the draws of the hotel. But we’ve been informed beforehand and decided to stay anyways.

A hotel with several hundred rooms should have more than 6 lounges at their pool. Our towels in the hotel room were in some cases stained and also ragged (coming apart at the edges). That does not say "5-star hotel."

Very nice hotel, lots of staff on hand. Comfy beds, nice airco, good location next to the train station (if that is relevant for you) and walkable distance from many of the temples. Decent breakfast spread and nice smelling shower gels - it was a nice hotel!

Very good buffet breakfast with a large assortment western and chinese foods. Great experience The swimming pool. Opening hours 07:00~10:30, 14:00~21:00. Is closed on rainy days, which was most of the time during our stay. 6 of the most unconfortable sunbeds I have ever tried. not meant for sitting or lying down. Tables with chairs further away from the pool. No shade provided at all, so the pool area is only nice for kids / a quick swim, not for relaxing on hot sunny summer days. Strange contrast with the really great quality of the rest of the hotel

The hotel is beautiful, clean and modern with a lap pool on the roof. The staff was very friendly and offered many options for dining outside. My wife loved the location.

The hotel just got refurbished and looks and feels super new and fresh. We received a free upgrade at check-in. The room had great design and a comfortable bed, with shower and bath separated from the toilet. Front desk staff was welcoming. Concierge was great! Location is perfect, plus convenient and free underground parking is provided. The rooftop pool was a nice extra (wearing a hair cap is mandatory). What we found strange though is that there is no bar to get drinks on the rooftop, and no outside drinks were allowed either. Service level and English proficiency of front desk staff could be better. When we had very normal requests, the answers seemed off and not service oriented. Our bathroom looked clean at first sight, but we noticed several long black hairs later on.
