The staffs were very attentive. The room is modern and comfortable. The room is too small for 4 adults. The pre authorization is troublesome and not necessary.

This is a beautiful property and does a perfect job balancing traditional Japanese elements with modern touches. The service was impeccable with the staff helping with whatever we needed and they were beyond friendly. The rooms were spacious, cozy and we loved the in room onsen/bath. This was the nicest stay we had during our 2 week trip in Japan. Nothing, it was absolutely perfect!
-
The staff was wonderful and made our stay perfect, they even made a suggestion to attend a local festival that happened to be happening in a town nearby. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again if I was ever in Takayama, Japan again Pillows could have been softer - we're not used to the Japanese pillow

TREATED LIKE ROYALTY FROM THE FIRST STEP INSIDE! We reserved room 302 ENKO. Second best room. Inclusive drinks in the room, very very spacious! Large hot tub in room. Not onsen water but could have fooled me. Has 3 private onsen available. We had breakfast and dinner included. Very elegant kaiseki type meals. The lounge is open 3 times a day and has free drinks and snacks! We took advantage the whole time we stayed, since there was beer and whiskey for the evening and night modes! They even helped us transfer our luggage to our next Kyoto hotel with Yamato. 10/10 recommend and 2 mins from tourist main area!

Very clean. Beautiful facilities / onsen.

This hotel was truly a wonderful experience. The staff showed us so much kindness during our stay, and I can’t say enough about how exceptional they were. Every interaction felt genuine and welcoming. It’s a smaller hotel with a limited number of rooms, which gave it a very intimate and peaceful feel. Most of the time it felt like we had the place to ourselves—we only saw other guests once during our stay. The onsens were clean and easy to access. If you’re looking for a quiet, personal experience with outstanding hospitality, this place delivers.

Absolutely incredible design, there is thought in every detail. Impeccably clean, with so much space and wonderful amenities. Tea, coffee, alcohol, toiletries, and so much more. The service was unreal- so much attention and care. We did half board, and the breakfast and dinner were presented beautifully and served in our own private room in the restaurant. Truly an exceptional stay- more than worth the splurge! Nothing! Didn’t want to leave.

We were both blown away with the level of attention and care that the staff provided throughout our stay. The food was incredible, and every detail was carefully thought out. We can’t wait to come back one day and will definitely stay here when we do. Everything was exceptional and I wouldn’t change a thing!

This was our first Ryokan experience and it didn’t disappoint! Staff were lovely and the property is very fresh and contemporary. We really enjoyed the lounge with the little snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Our room had a private onsen which was a fantastic way to relax after all the walking throughout the day.
