It was weird that I had to ask about the air conditioning and to request a remote for the air conditioning unit. It seems that is something that could have been addressed in the booking.

I requested to shorten my stay due to serious issues during my stay, but the property did not respond. I also followed up via WhatsApp and still received no answer. The main reason I decided not to continue my stay was a serious incident in the shared room involving inappropriate behaviour from another guest. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Some guests also appeared to be staying there long-term and repeatedly did not respect the rules, including being loud in the shared room, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. There were also serious hygiene and maintenance issues. There was no hot water during my stay, and the property did not match the photos shown on Booking.com. In particular, there was visible mould, which I consider a health concern. Overall, I felt unsafe, uncomfortable, and disappointed with how the situation was handled. The lack of response from the property made the experience even worse. I cannot recommend this hostel.

• They are centrally located, near Liberty Square. • I was happy because I left after 3 nights and my life turned positive again. ☺️ • Only the bottom beds have curtains; the top beds provide no privacy at all. • The hostel is not suitable for female travelers, as it only offers mixed dorms that are occupied by men. In fact, I was the only female guest in the hostel! • The beds aren’t equipped with lights or shelves, making it difficult to store your belongings or see at night. Only a few beds have sockets to charge your phone. • The bathrooms and toilets are tiny and also lack shelves and hooks for your things. • The floor gets completely flooded when you shower, and one of the bathrooms doesn’t even have a drain for the water to go down. • Although the staff makes superficial daily cleaning efforts, the hostel remains overall dirty and sticky, with mold covering the bathroom walls. • The worker from Ukraine (or wherever she’s from) lacks basic customer service skills—to the point that she can’t even respond to simple inquiries or manage a polite “good morning.” • Overall, the hostel staff were rather unfriendly and unwelcoming, clearly lacking happiness and positivity in their lives. ?

The female manager or owner of this hostel is very nice, understanding, and flexible! she’s flexible enough to let me extend my stay for a few nights. Also, initially, I had the upper level of the bunk bed, which didn’t have curtains. The next day, she helped me change to a bed in the lower level with curtains to provide more convenience and privacy for women. Also, it’s very generous of them to provide free coffee, and snacks, as well as basic amenities like hairdryer and drying rack. The location is very close to freedom Square and within 15 minute walk away from downtown. While the owner, price, and location of this hostel were great, I likely wouldn’t stay here again. The primary reason is that the hostel feels predominantly male-only. On my first day, there were two other female guests, but they left the next day, leaving me as the only woman for the remainder of my stay. Despite the owner kindly providing a lower bunk with curtains, I often felt uncomfortable and inconvenienced. One major issue was the shared bathroom, which frequently became dirty. Some male guests didn’t lift the toilet seat when using it, leaving urine on the seat, which was unhygienic and unpleasant. Additionally, the toilet seat was often left up. Sleeping in a mixed dorm with 10 men was challenging due to loud snoring. Even with noise-canceling headphones, I was occasionally jolted awake, making it difficult to rest. The hostel’s atmosphere also felt lackluster. Most guests appeared to be long-term renters rather than travelers, and there was little interaction unless people already knew each other or spoke the same language. This made it difficult to connect with others, which may disappoint travelers seeking a social experience. Lastly, the hostel’s condition didn’t match the photos. The facilities felt outdated, and while the owners made efforts to keep it clean, the amenities were worn. For the first night, there was no hot water, and one of the two bathrooms had a small, awkwardly shaped bathtub where I slipped and nearly injured myself. With only one functional shower for up to 20 guests, it sometimes could feel overcrowded.

This was my second time staying at this hostel, and once again, it exceeded my expectations. The new mattresses were incredibly comfortable, and the entire place was spotless and well-maintained. A special thank you to Ms. Taniya and Mr. Berry for their warm hospitality. They went above and beyond to assist me with booking a taxi to the airport, ensuring a smooth and stress-free departure. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay. I look forward to returning on my next visit.
