FOCUS Kuramae - Hostel

The staff were lovely and very kind. They helped me solve a problem with the booking very easily. I stayed one night in the female-only dorm and one night in the mixed dorm. Both rooms were nice and clean. The location was good, and the area was a bit quiet, perfect for recharging after a long day! The best thing might be that they have created a small recommendation journal so if you don't know where to go, what to eat, or what to do, it'll be very useful!!

The bed, room and bathrooms were super clean. I couldn't find a USB plug for the fan.

Everything was clean, well-organized, and the atmosphere was friendly. I also felt special being the first Moroccan guest they hosted ? Thank you for such a warm experience I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the facilities well maintained and comfortable. The walls are a bit thin but this is Tokyo after all and for the price point it was wonderful!

Very clean and nice. Close to everything. They require you to leave between 11 and 3 pm, which makes sense but is annoying if you are not checking out that day and need access to your stuff

I was in 'solo room' it was great, way bigger bed than i expected, actually real king size.. the wooden paneling of the walls makes it look really cozy ..super nice and helpful stuff i would definitely come again ? actually i have nothing to say ?

Neat, and bunk bed are bigger than I expected. Room and toilets are clean. Staff are helpful. One of the best capsules I ever stay! Certainly will come back here again. Location not the closest to asakusa, but within walking distance I found many interesting places along the way. Maybe the bed is water bed? If you’re on the bottom bed, the squeaking noise from above may annoy you. If you’re sensitive with that, ask for top bed

On the last nigth, I started to note a red rash in my entire body. It stinged pretty bad tomorrow morning, Im pretty sure they have a bed bug problem.

It was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly which really helped with this being my first solo trip, and being 18 still rather young. There is a washing machine/dryer combo that is available without reservation which costs about ¥400 for a full load. The toilets and sinks were very clean, but I did notice some mold growing on the shower ceiling and higher on the walls. It should be an easy fix with some watered down bleach though. The location is phenomenal with about a 15min walk to Sensō-ji shrine in Asakusa (as well as Hoppy Street). The building itself was located in a more quiet part of Asakusa with easy access to multiple stations functioning on different lines, making it easier to get to any of the more tourist centric areas. I’m ~6’4”(~195cm) and I had more than enough room in my bed, so as long as you’re 6’6” and under you should be fine. They have a few cameras that you can borrow for the day(I think it may be free), I have my own so I never used any but it’s nice to have. Again the mold in the shower room was a little off putting as it looks like it may be black mold. There are no key or code operated lockers for luggage storage for those staying in the dormitory.
