HOTEL TOMOS ASAKUSA was the perfect place to begin our first trip to Japan. It was our introduction to Japanese hotel life, and we quickly discovered that everything—from the lobby and elevators to the rooms and even the socks provided—seemed just a little bit smaller than what we're used to. It made for a fun and memorable first experience. The location couldn't have been much better. It was only a short walk from Asakusa Station, Senso-ji Temple, and, of course, Tiger Thai Massage, which became one of my favorite stops during the stay. I highly suggest a four-hand Thai massage, you don't know what part of your body hurts most at any given time! The hotel also offered plenty of useful amenities, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. One interesting thing we noticed was that two of the three employees we interacted with appeared to be from other countries. It was a nice reminder that Japan attracts people from all over the world who want to live and work there. Perhaps my favorite memory, though, had nothing to do with the hotel itself. One of my biggest reasons for coming to Japan was to see a geiko. As we walked from the station toward the hotel after arriving, I spotted one within the first two hours of landing in Japan. It felt like the perfect welcome to a trip I had dreamed about for years. I had, of course, already booked an ozashiki with a geiko and maiko in Kyoto a few days later, but seeing a geiko on the streets of Asakusa was right up there with getting married, or the birth of my daughter. Maybe even more so! (Don't tell my wife or my daughter!) Summary: A wonderful first introduction to Japan that gave us the perfect start to an unforgettable adventure. No real complaints. If you're visiting Japan for the first time, just remember that hotel rooms are generally smaller than what many Western travelers are used to—but we expected that and actually found it part of the charm.

Lovely hotel by the river in a quiet and clean neighborhood. Easy walking distance to temple and trains. As our first time in Tokyo, this property made our transition to Japan very easy. Thank you!

We loved our stay at Tomos! The hotel was comfortable, clean, and welcoming, and the staff was amazing throughout our visit. The location was a little farther from the train stations than we would have preferred, especially since we were traveling with small children, but it was still manageable with a bit of walking. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

The staff was great! We got there while it was pouring and they help us dry our luggage and ourselves. Check in and check out were very easy. The rooms were very cute. They wrote our name in Japanese to welcome us and gave us a free eye mask and socks.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Tomos Asakusa. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood, which made it a peaceful place to return to after busy days of sightseeing. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the station, especially when traveling with a 4-year-old, but it was manageable and well worth it for the comfort and atmosphere. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay, offering advice on places to visit and providing recommendations that were especially helpful since we were traveling with a young child. When it was time for us to leave, the staff helped us arrange luggage transfer and a taxi, and they all came to say goodbye. Those thoughtful gestures made us feel genuinely cared for and added a personal touch to our experience. The elevator is small, but it wasn’t a problem for us. Since each floor is dedicated to a single guest room, it actually felt very private and exclusive

This is a fantastic hotel near the Sumida river/park and Sensoji temple (about a 10 minute walk). It is on a quiet street in Asakusa so you can sleep soundly but still be near everything. There is a 7-11 across the street if you need a snack or meal! There are also great restaurants nearby (not as many on the street but definitely within a few minutes walk). The staff (especiall Yu and the manager, Mr. Kawashima) go out of their way to insure your visit is wonderful. There is a coffee/water/laundry machine available but I used the laundry next door which was amazing (you can wash and dry your laundry in one machine in about 80 minutes). The Asakusa Yokocho was wonderful with incredible restaurants and small stores. I had only visited Sensoji beforehand and this was such a great experience walking around. There are large sidewalks (great for strollers and wheelchairs). The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop deck which is nice for lounging and eating meals (they supply a microwave and utensils). I can't wait to stay here again.

The staff is amazing, top notch. The Japanese staff, the bolivian person, the chilean person, they're all so so nice, helpful and kind. The hotel itself is great, has free coffee, water, etc. The room was BIG, better than I expected! Not the best location in terms of being suuuuper close to a train station, but it was fine.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms, reasonably priced, and in a quieter neighborhood of Tokyo. This may seem like a small detail, but the bathroom sink was extremely small.

It was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in in Japan. 1. The location was excellent. Asakusa Temple is about an 8-minute walk away, Asakusa Station is 10 minutes, Kaminarimon Gate is 15 minutes, and Tokyo Skytree is also 15 minutes away. 2. We were a family of five and had booked a family room. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. 3. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Mr. Go and Mr. Minato, in particular, were a great help with our luggage. My Japanese is only basic, but I always want to practice it. Mr. Minato was very patient and made an effort to speak as simple Japanese as possible so I could understand him, even though he speaks very good English. 4. The hotel has a rooftop terrace offering a great view of the Tokyo Skytree. This hotel is highly recommended.

The location was perfect, within easy walking distance of the local markets and beautiful shrines. The staff were all fantastic, spoke English well, and were incredibly helpful. We especially enjoyed the rooftop area with its amazing city views at night, and the downstairs area was great with a complimentary coffee machine and a fun hot dog offering to start the day.
