Okachimachi Urban Hotel

A bit off the touristy area yet extremely convenient on subway lines. None

Location is great, specially if you want to wander around Akihabara at night (which is great if you don't have time in your trip schedule for shopping). Room is clean and bed is comfortable. You simply can't open your window, not even a tiny bit - they blocked it completely for "safety reasons". I have some respiratory allergies, so I like to ventilate my room when I get in, and they made it impossible to do so. If they're worried about safety, they could leave just a gap like most hotels do, not shut it all the way down. The reception is on the second floor, and you get in the elevator through an entrance in the street, so probably for "safety reasons" the elevator mandatorily stops on the second floor every trip. Just a bit of delay getting to your room and out, but it gets a bit in your nerves if you stay for multiple days. Room is a bit too small, the stay was quite expensive, but you'll find those problems everywhere in Tokyo.

Location was great! short walking distance from Keisei Ueno and subway station

All my staff interactions were kind and helpful despite the language barrier. The only downsides for me were the body wash in the shower and the pillow. The body wash dried out my skin a bit which usually doesn't happen to me, however it wasn't that bad and it was complimentary and cleaned my body as it was intended. The pillow was quite thick and had some sort of firm bean bag feeling aspect to the stuffing. Didn't ruin my sleep much or cause long lasting discomfort, but my neck would've enjoyed the option of a thinner pillow.

Location, the train stations are very close and you can get to any part of tokyo from there very easily. The staff was very nice.

The hotel was generally very clean, maybe few stains on the wall. The bathroom is small, but organized and clean. Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only bad thing about our room was the firm mattress and pillow wasn’t comfortable at all.

Staff very welcoming and friendly. Room clean and well laid out. Room was on the smaller side, but honestly for a solo traveler and given how cheap the room was for Tokyo and the location, this really isn't an issue.

Didn't like the pillows, it was too hard

The rooms were nice, while small it was perfect for 1 person. After a day of traveling it’s nice to have a room to yourself and I was able to have my carryon and a medium size suit case open in the room The hotel is a little bit of a walk from some areas but your quite literally in the midpoint between Ueno and Akihabara

I had a great stay at this hotel, the staff was very friendly, the location was amazing, and the room was clean and comfortable. I will stay again here sometime in the future. Thank you for everything!
