Plat Hostel Keikyu Asakusa Station

The location is relatively near the station. The room was good too. I had to pay a fine of 1000¥ because I did late check-in, but nobody was there to do the reception. I just received an email from the hostel with my bed number and the pass code.

Staff is really nice

Location, price, cleanliness, social events in the evening, opportunities to meet international travelers. Things to borrow, umbrella/shade, kitchen had everything needed and useful. I liked everything.

The location is excellent for sightseeing in the Asakusa and Kappabashi areas, and it is situated in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood. It offers convenient access to transportation with 2 train stations less than a 10-minute walk away, and there are several convenience stores less than 5 minutes away on foot. Additionally, there is a great selection of small, local restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. The aisles between the walls and the beds were very narrow, making it quite difficult to move around the room. Furthermore, some guests left their drinks and snacks out in these shared pathways, which made the space feel cluttered and untidy. Lastly, the bathroom sink and counter area were a bit too cramped, and I wish that space had been more spacious.

The location is close to nearby train stations; the closest is Tawaramachi Station (if you use a Tokyo Metro/Subway Pass), and other stations are Tsukuba Express, Asakusa, Tobu Asakusa, and Subway Asakusa. The elevator helps a lot for someone who brings large luggage, because in a previous trip I stayed at another Plat hostel (Plat Hostel Karin), and they didn't have an elevator, which made it quite hard to bring the luggage up by stairs (while they had semi-private dorms and safeboxes on each bed, but no proper kitchen or common room). The kitchen also helps a lot for preparing some self-made bento to save money for lunch or dinner. The other guests were also kind and did not make so much noise, especially in the dorm room. The staff has good English and is fast in response. The first thing I thought about regarding discomfort is that the space for luggage is quite narrow for a dorm room without any locker to save some important stuff (only a very small deposit box that can be used as a wallet or small camera safe box), and the private room is close to the emergency exit door. There is not even one shower room on each floor except for all the shower rooms only on the second floor, where the kitchen and common space are.

Staffs were really friendly and really good for travels to Japan where you only use it to sleep and for luggage keeping Unlike other plat hostel branches, their bunk beds have structure inside the bunk beds that makes it smaller. Also, unlike other branches, no free towel and sleepers so you will have to pay extra. But still very affordable

The double room has barely enough space to open a medium size luggage. No space to stand when it's opened. The staffs doesn't help with sending luggage to another hotel.

Really good first impression of japan. The place was spotless clean! Quiete, new! Very nice and friendly staff. We LOVED the location. Quiet street, very close to main attractions in Asakusa, lots of restaurants, Subway, convinience stores and nice places around. The room is super tiny, but also cozy. We slept great. LOOOOVED the bathroom. Everywhere smelled good and gave us this cleaness sensation. Will definately come back! We liked everything!

Very good location, facilities were nice. They let you leave your bag before checking in. Bed was comfy with just enough space in the bedroom to store your bag. Shared room can feel a little cramped if all occupants are complete and all their stuff are laying around

The WIFI was extremely slow which was significant enough to deduct 1 point from the stay. I ended up having to turn off the wifi to use my phone data.

This was my first hostel on my first solo trip to Japan and I was very pleased with my stay! I felt the location was great and easy to get in and out of by the trains/subway/busses. Neighborhood was cute and quiet with little gems of shops sprinkled all over. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a locked cage for keeping luggage after checking out if needed. All my dorm-mates were respectful with keeping noise down. The capsules were cozy and beds not too hard. (Ladder may be tricky for those with mobility issues) The room may feel crowded with people's luggage, gotta share under bunk space if others are willing, but not terrible; there's 3 sinks and 2 bathrooms in the same area/floor. Tiny safes for smaller important things. Room and bed was very warm. Staff comes in during afternoons to do maintenance but you can just stay in your bed if you'd like. Kitchen is small but enough for a good amount of people to sit and you had the option of toaster, microwave and little burner top. Nice big fridge for foods and plenty of showers. Laundry machines worked well, just a tad small so you may need to do a few loads. Dryer wasn't horrible but needed at least 2 rounds to fully dry. (Again, don't over fill) Doors are locked at 10pm but you are given a code if you go out for the night. WiFi can be weak at times but no biggy unless you're trying to watch videos or do work. I would gladly stay here again if I get the chance! Not much honestly, thoe I'm not very fussy about things I feel. If there were problems it was from other gusts but nothing to write about.

It was easy to talk with the staff in English. Also appreciated the gyoza party that they hosted. Close to sensoji temple, kappabashi street and other areas of interest. Good value. The size of the area outside and inside the showers is tight. Not much space to open suitcases in the dorm area, if you bring any. I prefer dedicated larger sized rooms for showers that I've used in some other hostels. The sinks were also very low, had to bend almost 90 degrees to use it.

The fire escape for the entire floor was accessed in the private rooms. So the room was designed to be easier broken into in case of a fire. This was the case for all the floors.

Staffs are very friendly.

I had a pleasant stay at Plat Hostel Keikyu Asakusa Station, largely thanks to the friendly and welcoming staff. The hostel is very well-maintained and clean, with great amenities like an elevator serving all floors, a functional kitchen, and a nice common space to relax. While the bed itself was quite comfortable. Overall, it is a high-quality hostel with a great vibe, but be prepared for a very compact room if you are traveling with large bags. The double room was extremely cramped. There was barely any floor space to open our luggage, which made the stay feel a bit tight and inconvenient.

After staying in a double room here previously, I returned to plat hostel keikyu asakusa station and booked dorm beds this time, and the experience was top-notch. Unlike the tighter private rooms, the dorm setup felt perfectly organized and very comfortable. The staff remained as friendly and welcoming as ever, and the entire property stayed consistently clean. Having access to the elevator for all floors, the well-equipped kitchen, and the cozy common space made the stay very convenient. The beds were comfy and provided a great night's sleep. If you are visiting Asakusa, I highly recommend choosing the dorms for a seamless and high-quality hostel experience.
