Sakura Cross Hotel Shinjuku East

It was clean It wasn’t the quietest place, hence they provide you with ear plugs. You’ll hear the neighbors humming and the street conversations and noise if you have an exterior facing room. The bathroom is akin to having a portable toilet room in the room with you. The room itself also stays damp from the bathroom humidity and the photos definitely make it look much larger than it actually is. The upper bunk was not an actual bed but set up more as a sitting space for children. The pad was maybe an inch or two thick. For our two night stay (1 adult and 2 kids), it was sufficient but I could not have stayed here if we had one more adult.

Basic budget hostel Shinjuku. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower water pressure was great. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience overall. The room that we got was in the back on the first floor with a single window facing a wall with no natural light, which is not what is shown on the booking.com photos. The other window had been covered over with the TV. We asked the manager to change the room, but it was not possible. The rooms are really small and good for just crashing at night and having a shower the next day. There is no person at the front desk ( automated check in ) and so if you have an issue, it takes time to contact the management. The location is not great, it is about a 20 minute walk from Shinjuku station. Would recommend paying a little more and finding a place closer to the station and main shopping / restaurant area.

The bed was very comfy and very clean. We love it A Little bit far from the train station and have to walk up hill to reach the hotel.

Check in and check out process are efficient. It delivered on its promise of clean room with very limited service. For a family of 4, our room had very limited space. For couples or singles, it might work better.

Room was clean and comfortable with good amenities and had a nice layout that fit our family of 5. The bidet was one of the higher end units with auto seats and flush function. It was about 15 minutes from the main train station and 6 minutes from the smaller station so pretty convenient location. Short train ride to Shinjuku main area. Must mention the young gentleman who cleaned the unit and staffed the front desk. We arrived early hoping to check in but since another guest checked out that morning it was not possible. He obviously worked extremely hard to get the room ready for us about 15 minutes prior to check in time and was very humble as well as gracious. Highly commend his work ethic and attitude. Not much can be done in this regard but you can easily hear noise from the lobby and entrance area as our unit was right next to it. A microwave or toaster would have been nice to have.

Location and value were incredible. The rooms were very clean, plenty of room, and very cozy! The staff were always friendly and they cleaned the rooms every other day. The windows were thin so noise and cold air would come in very easily.

There was nothing I did not like about this property. It was actually a nice surprise. I expected something smaller because the rooms we had prior to this day were very small and crowded. But this room that we had was so spacious so clean it was more than we expected.

Additionally the curtains blocked the morning and evening lights very well, but also could be pulled back.

Property is clean and location is convenient. But little bit away from the station. Microwave or ion not available. Customers need to heat up some of the frozen foods.
