APA Hotel Kodemmacho Ekimae

Proximity to where I wanted to be and local train station 500 m away Staff a little surly at times. Breakfast guy very surly. Rooms very small afore two people and suitcases. Breakfast only Japanese no western option.

The bed size was a bit small for two people.

One minor issue was that the room humidity was noticeably higher than in other APA hotels we have stayed at.

Good bed. Ok location. ! Every 3 nights the cleaning is FORCED and you can not cancel that. I did not like that as someone who usually keeps my room clean and don’t like to be disturbed in my private space. Maybe all APAs are like that. There’s only ONE washer and dryer for the whole facility. Which is at least 100+ people i guess. This is wild. You can not turn off the TV and it turns on automatically every time you get back. Annoying. Overdue checkout is paid.

Location within 10 - 15 minutes walking to train station or Bus stops. Several convenience stores near by. Several minutes ride to Tokyo CBD or Shinjuku, Akihabara and Shibuya. Rooms are functional, very clean and very quiet (when I stayed, there was a minor construction work and I could not hear them despite being very near their work). Attached restaurant and several near by restaurants and at worse the convenience stores are 24-7 so getting food is not an issue here at any time of day/night. Wifi available. I have been around Shinjuku, Akihabara and Shibuya late at night and it could be pretty busy thus the location of this hotel is pretty advantageous should you wish for a quieter stay. Rooms could be considered small by western standard (however for the price paid and what would be offered [quality wise] like in Australia/France/Germany etc this is plenty acceptable especially considering every thing feels new and very clean). Because of the location, you will need to use public transport, for night time activities (expect trains/buses to terminate at 00:00 and be forced to take the taxi (similar cost as countries mentioned above) or stay out until 5 AM). Wish there was irons for basic ironing (although trouser pressers have been provided) and there is a laundry mat. Single Lift is a minor inconvenience.

I liked the location of Kommedocho, as it was easy to transfer onto the Shinjuku and Hibeya lines for Akihabara, Shinjuku Station, and other stations that lead out of the city. My only problem was the singular elevator, as busy times could lead to lengthy wait times depending on the situation.

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. We had to postpone our arrival by one night due to flight irregularities, which apparently wasn’t possible because the hotel was “fully booked.” I had even sent a goodwill request in advance, but it was denied. We then canceled and rebooked — for €400 more! I fully understand booking policies, but I don’t understand why a one-night shift couldn’t be granted as a gesture of goodwill, especially when rooms were still clearly available (five rooms showing on Booking.com at the time). I would have expected significantly more customer orientation in such a situation. That’s why I can only give two stars despite the otherwise pleasant experience.

The location was good , close to the many metro stations, and bad was so comfy When i checkin i saw there were many man hairs in the bathroom, i reported the issue to the receptionist and he said we will clean up by himself immediately. And it was cleaned after. Yet there were many dust on the desk etc. There were no common space any table, chairs that you can sit, have a rest or eat your food. And for the elevator u need to wait 5 min to get in room or out. There were no stairs. And if your room is next to the elevator there will be a huge noises. ( they moved me to a farther side and i slept like a baby. Andno breakfast is included.

Rooms too damp. Washroom barely dries after showering. There was mold on window curtain.

The hotel was good value. The location was great with great coffee places nearby. Also close to metro and JR lines to take you further afield with ease. The staff were lovely and helpful and the hotel itself has everything you really need. It's a suitable base to launch your Japan trip. The bathroom had small patches of mold on the wall and door and had an odd smell. The ventilator didn't seem to work properly.

APA is always a great choice. Small rooms, but you have everything needed! I had some mold in the bathroom and the shower was broken. I fixed myself.

Amazing staff, clean and hygienic room, good water pressure, proximity to the city

It is a standard APA room, very small but this one had the extra storage box under the bed. location was very good,

The rooms are disrespectfully small, there is an unpleasant smell in the hallway most of the time, they clean the room once every 3 days! Something about this hotel didn't work well for me, although it is close to the train and the hotel employees are nice and professional, but still something about the aesthetics and the general atmosphere feels not taken care of properly.

There is one elevator for 10 floors, with 10+ rooms per floor. Once I had to wait 15min for the elevator to show up because other floors we're using it. Stairs not allowed unless it was an emergency. There is one floor with laundry for 100+ rooms.
