The hotel was kind of buried behind other buildings. Twice we took a taxi back to the hotel. One guy drove in a giant circle trying to get to the hotel which ended up costing us an additional $200 yen.

I liked where the hotel was situated - right opposite Shinagawa station. Was attached/connected to a mall which included a food court and a convenience store. Overall disappointed by the stay. We had opted for 'pay at property' which we were fine to do, we were aware we would have to pay more due to the taxes which was fine, but at the time of payment the eftpos machine stated "includes 5% increase" this worked out to be more than what we had booked to pay for. The hotel staff couldnt explain it, she rang customer service of eftpos machine who also couldn't help. There was no resolution to this - everyone was tired from travelling all day. Had tried to negotiate holding onto my card until they had the answers and letting us check in to get elderly mum and 2 kids in to rooms but staff said no leaving me no real choice but to pay and no explanation for what the 5% was that I was paying for. There was no follow up! We stayed there for 3 nights, and no one ever came back to me to explain what the 5% was for. Had a situation where I forgot my room key in the room, had asked if someone could help me with the elevator - but was told to ring my partner who was in the room with the 2 kids. This just so happened to be the morning of checking out and he was in the shower. Tried to ask a second staff member, but no luck and I was left waiting/wasting time. Charging points are all one sided, the room itself felt outdated that there were no usb charging points. We were pleased that there were 2 pools to use with the heat and something nice for our kids to do but only to find it was costly to use.

Best location in Shinagawa Station! Especially KK line is 1 minute walk from main tower lobby Inside the room is little outdated, and carpet is not so clean.
-
The air conditioner was awful and it was so hot in the room.

The space for luggage could have been bigger. We had to move furniture to make room for 3 suitcases to fit and open.

Location, especially for first night in Tokyo, was excellent and I selected to leave from the Shinagawa station for Kyoto in the morning as I felt it would be less overwhelming - glad I did! We would not have been prepared to navigate Tokyo Station with our luggage on very little sleep. My family's experience was that everything was clean and efficiently run throughout Japan and the Shinagawa Prince Hotel was no exception. We chose to experience eating inside the train station, so I cannot comment on dining at the hotel. However, this hotel's location simplified our lives immensely!

Good breakfast Small room

We liked the convenience of being close to the train station and the aquarium. Also the hotel housekeeping and baggage holding staff were friendly and professional.

Location During breakfast before we left the table, my mom just wanted to pack 1 croissant that my daughter did not finish because she didn't want to waste it. A rude staff that was clearing the table literally SHOUTED at her and said she couldn't do that and shouted at her to put it back on the table. If there is a policy which doesn't allow us to do so, that's fine. But why is she shouting at guests?? You need to train your staff on how to talk to hotel guests. Also, when asking for extra pillows, the lady at housekeeping was investigating me on WHY I needed them. Again, if you have some kind of policy on that, explain. Don't question me why why why and how many people are in the room etc. I have never been questioned anywhere around the world except in Japan for extra pillows.

The only thing I liked was the location. It is an easy five-minute walk to Shinagawa Station, which made transportation very convenient. This stay was disappointing from start to finish. Check-in was scheduled for 3:00 p.m., but when we arrived around 3:15 p.m., our room was still not ready. We were told the housekeeping staff was still cleaning it and that it would be ready in about 10 minutes. After waiting another 15 minutes, we returned to the front desk only to find that the room was still not ready. What was most disappointing was that no one apologized for the delay or provided any update. The check-in process was also unnecessarily complicated and confusing. Staff first checked our reservation and passports simply to allow us to join the check-in line. When we reached the counter, our passports were checked again before we were directed to the self-service kiosks. The kiosk then produced an error and could not complete the check-in, so we had to return to the front desk. At no point did the staff explain what was happening or why we were being redirected, making the entire process frustrating and inefficient. The room itself was another disappointment. It was small, dated, and had a noticeable unpleasant odor. More concerning, we found hair left in both the bathtub and on the bathroom floor, which raised questions about the quality of housekeeping. Throughout our stay, the staff came across as unfriendly and unhelpful. Combined with the delayed room, confusing check-in process, and cleanliness issues, this was far below the standard we expected. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not choose to stay here again.
