No adjustable air conditioner, was too hot the whole stay

Vending machines were meh

Very good location, right next to JR Otsuka, which is also near Ikebukuro. Decently cheap with late night food chains nearby (Matsuya, Yoshinoya, izakayas and other kinds of restaurants and bars). Breakfast was limited in variety but fine. Space for sitting on the toilet is very narrow. Bathroom itself is very typical small configuration type with combined toilet/sink/bathtub. Forced room clean every 3 days.

Great Location and good value

The single rooms in this hotel are very small, so keep that in mind when making reservations. However, the hotel staff gave us the option of changing rooms during our stay, which we greatly appreciated. The facilities are clean and offer a variety of pillow options. But what we enjoyed most was the healing music you hear on TV at the beginning. I really liked everything in general.

Location is superb, a short stroll from the North exit of Otsuka station, sharing an entrance with the Royal Host. Lots of food options close by, as well as a set breakfast in the morning. Front counter staff were friendly, polite, efficient. A credit to the hotel. Rooms were small, but that's to be expected in Tokyo. Big enough to relax though, had a seat and a small desk, and the standard bathroom set up. Well laid out, good use of space. Water pressure was ok on the top floor. Everything was absolutely spotless. Washing machine setup is superb. Machines have 4 different modes, and the TV will tell you which machines are in use, and how long is left on them. No need to provide your own detergent etc. Just have some 100 yen coins handy. TV has hotel information on it, not just TV channels. The info guide also shows how to access other TV functions. 2 elevators, didn't have to wait long at all. Due to the building being centrally heated, I was too cold in bed with the blanket off, too hot with it on. Eventually found I could open the window, and that solved the problem. Bed too hard - couldn't sleep properly. I'm sure it would have been fine for local customers, not a big foreigner like me :) Noisy outside. Not within hotel's control, but be prepared for train noise up to ~ midnight, restarting ~5am. (Didn't really bother me, I live near a train line at home!) I had more noise due to having to open the window for climate control. TV has language options, but no guide to find the button to switch to English. (It's the right arrow button on the direction pad) Hotel sent multiple messages to me via Booking in Japanese. Turned out they were all promotional material. Anxiety inducing, and frustrating. Really wish they wouldn't abuse the Booking message system like that!

+ It is very close to Otsuka Station (2 minutes walk) which is on the Tokyo Loop Line and only 1 stop away from Ikebukuro Station which was wonderful for my 12 night stay. + The room layout was great which makes the room feels quite big (I could set up a laptop station and still have room for both my small and very large suitcases). + There is also daily cleaning and there is a lift from the first floor (But it is hidden because you have to access it via the back entrance). - The Lift from the first floor was a little hidden. - Sometimes the train arrival music from Otsuka Station could be heard from my room on the 7th floor.

It was very close to the train station. I’ve been to Tokyo many times and this is the closest I’ve been coming out of a train station. It’s literally right across the street and very easy to access. I know it’s for security reasons, but I didn’t like the fact I didn’t let me have a do not disturb for more than two days. I didn’t really need cleaning so much but just a place for me to toss out the trash which I know is hard to ask in Japan.

Also, the location is super strategic. You’re walking distance to many restaurants, convenience stores and the most important JY Yamanote Line, one of the most relevant that connects with almost all the public transportation and with stops in relevant districts.

Staff was super cooperative. Nothing special.

The rooms are small

The centralized airconditioning wasn’t convenient because my room is always either too hot or too cold.

Staff was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Location was unbeatable, steps away for Otsuka station and the Yamamoto Line. Curry rice breakfast was yummy. Wheelchair accessible entrance convenient for luggage. Laundry did not have an option for a cold cycle.

Close to station. Easy commute to get to places and lots of places to eat in the area.

We really liked the hotel staff; everyone was very friendly and willing to help. They did us a big favor by storing one of our suitcases for a week, since we had another reservation with them at the end of the trip. That helped us a lot, as we didn’t have to carry it around all over Japan Like every hotel in Tokyo, the room was very small, but I guess that's normal for the area. Still, you manage with the space, and it wasn't a big problem

I was a bit afraid that it would be too noisy because of trains, but actually you hardly hear them. However, there is a loud annoying electronic song from a shop downstairs from 6 am until midnight, and you hear it even when the window is closed. The hotel can't do much about it, but it woke me up several times during my stay.
