The manager was attentive and helpful, it was the cheapest hotel room in Trincomalee area that had air con. There was somewhere to sit on a peaceful balcony which was a lovely open space, there was blankets available for the room if you wanted them, ask at reception. The location was great, it was approximately 10 minutes walk to Uppuveli Beach which was calm and clean to swim in. The bars across the beach vary in price, we went with the first one you come to at the end of the road to the beach, you will walk through a archway to get to it.(blue sand beach resort) This road is on the left, on the opposite side of the road as you get to the main road, this was fair in pricing for a beach and you can use the loungers if you bought a drink. When you return from the beach Hotel Sun Blue have a outside tap to wash down your feet, which is a nice feature. The local attractions were all a short drive away and we ate twice at 4 Doner, where we had a delicious biryani, make sure to order the fried chicken one as they serve it with a delicious homemade curry sauce. We also visited W1 Cafe, which is on top of a hardware store, which seems random but it had the sweetest owners and they will help you find it when you walk past it if you do lose your way. The coffee shop is unfinished but serves a decent coffee made the western way with beans. Fort Frederick is also a great place to visit, cheap entry and is next to a free entry temple (Koneswaram)which you can see from the viewpoint that FF sits on, this was really interesting as you walk through a local market to get there with wild deer roaming around. When you arrive, you are met with a colourful entrance with a massive statue of Shiva, if you enter the temple around 1630, they do their Prayer rituals around 5, which smells divine and is beautiful to watch and experience. You could stay there longer than what we did which was a couple of nights however you can get all of the surrounding sites done within 2 days. It seemed the hotel was a little unfinished however it was still comfortable and was clean, on the booking.com add it does say its served with a free included breakfast however when arrived the manager said it was not the case and if we did want breakfast you could at a extra cost.

We had a very good experience staying in Trincomalee. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and in an excellent location. A special mention goes to the Hotel Manager, Mr. Raj, who was incredibly helpful and attentive. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Trincomalee!

Great place !!!

Not far from a nice little area at the beach with plenty of restaurants. A/C worked well; shower was hot too (if needed - a cool shower is fine in hot weather). Friendly staff. Not too expensive. Located in a quiet street, which may feel a bit iffy at night if you're travelling alone. We didn't go for breakfast here, because the price is too high, but there are a few good alternatives nearby.

Easy to find: 10 min walking (slowly) from the beach. Raj and Gea were very attentive and kind. Well recommended.

The accommodation is a little off the main road. The location is fine. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms are basic but adequate. Unfortunately, warm water did not work during our stay. The WiFi also only worked very rarely. The bed creaked with every little movement, which kept us awake at night.

Raj was an amazing host.

Our manager Raj did his utmost to make our stay enjoyable. The room was cool, squeaky clean and we slept like babies. Raj can assist you with scooter hire, transport, laundry and banter. If you go out for dinner try Rice and Curry, a Bob Marley inspired fresh seafood restaurant. Buy your fresh caught fish and they grill it up for you with some chips. Best dinner in Trinco by miles. Only the twin sheets; we would prefer a double top sheet but this did not affect a good night's sleep. It would be great to have a bar fridge in the room (As we are Australian LOL.) Raj kept our drinks cool and ran them to our top floor thanks dear Raj. Reading lights would be great but they don't really feature in Sri Lanka.]

Really friendly owners, really great location, just a couple of minutes from the beach, all restaurants, ATM and small market. Great breakfast with fruit, bread, eggs, tea. Good clean room and restroom. Also WiFi and AC were really good. The shower pressure was not that good, but this is pretty normal in Sri Lanka.

Hotel Sun Blue in Trincomalee is a great choice for a stay in Uppuveli. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the A/C works perfectly. The hosts are kind and attentive, and the location is ideal, just a short walk from the beach. Amenities are basic, but for the price, it's a perfect stay

The helpful and friendly staff Everything was perfect

Super location very close to the beach Staff was very nice. Thank you Raj for being welcoming. Very close to very nice Hawaï beach restaurant

Hotel is quiet, safe and clean approx 10 mins walk to beach in a good location. Raj is very helpful. Room has air con. We stayed at 7 hotels in Sri Lanka and this was the second most expensive and not value for money. No Sri Lankan welcome like we experienced elsewhere, we stayed for 5 nights the room was not cleaned ( although hotel is very clean ) towels were exchanged only when asked, no bedside light, room is basic with no attempt to make it even a little more holiday like ,it is basically a room with a bed.For what we paid and what we experienced elsewhere we felt it was poor value for money.

Comfiest bed I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Air con was a treat and the wardrobe & desk were handy It’s a bit expensive for what you get, but I think that might be because it has AC (a lot of places in Trincomalee only have fans). There was loud thudding sometimes coming from the roof - I think some staff members have a room up there that got a bit loud sometimes

Amazing staff

Raj is very nice and helpful for my trip. He helped me with transportations and some tour recommendations. The room is spacious clean; cool AC; and very quiet.
-
Everything was just fine. Something should be already fixed in the room but this is not critical.
-
Such gentle and personal service. Clean, large room, a/c and hot water (not that it was needed!), very secure , and great location just back from the beach where it was quiet but a 1min walk to restaurants and a mini mart type shop. The lady who manages the hotel is absolutely lovely. If you are a diver - Weligama bay (Trinco bay) dive shop was also excellent and the cheapest (with some negotiating) Nothing

Great hotel! Very friendly and helpful staff. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the aircon was good. It’s in a good location, only a 5 minute walk to the beach, and close to local shops and restaurants.
